Thank you all.  I never had children, but they are very precious to us all.  I also believe that although it was usually unintentional a great number of us were "screwed up" at least to some extent when we were small.  Please take good care of the little ones.  And as for our friendly editors, I saw that one coming...Not.  Thank you!  :) Goodnight and love to all, Mike <3

Writing Something Pretty

Can you see My Darkness?

Can you see my loss for words? I should write about something pretty

Maybe I could write about the happiness After grabbing hold of something That you've been reaching for all your life Or the relief after knowing everything you did actually matters But the thing is They are all unfamiliar emotions to me

I could write about Self Love But I would be a hypocrite Because there is not a man I hate more than the Man in the mirror

Maybe I could write about Romance I could write about the butterflies in my stomach That never existed Or the sweet words of love in the morning That I never heard

Write about something But there is nothing pretty about my life Except maybe you

The Crime Against Ourselves

Ignorance is poison The root of all suffering and pain So it makes sense That there is so much pain in the world

The children of today Ignorant and weak surrendering apathetically to the rot in our minds Knowing all and never looking for enlightenment

Spitting on values held by our elders to satisfy our sadistic pleasures And at the same time Being perfectly content with the trash shoved in our face by the media Accepting lies without a second thought

We're losing days and nights He is losing his mind in entertainment Numbing souls and blackening hearts against empathy She is leaving today and not trusting the elusive tomorrow Fighting ourselves while the higher power carries sorrow

Cynical criminals committing crimes against ourselves Through cognitive dissonance  Bleeding ourselves dry Giving ourselves to anything that feels good

Crumbling foundations built on lies and ignorance Must be rebuilt With knowledge and the truth

Note: This a collaboration between Jenny and myself. It was both of first collabs and I think it came out very nicely. She's a great writer.
