Sam Wilson is a man amongst men, in the sense that there’s no one that’s quite like him, no one that could even begin to compare. He has a heart of pure gold, an indestructible will, and a passion for doing the right thing for any situation. He’s also deliriously attractive, all pretty eyes with long lashes, a gorgeous side profile that could cut stone, and a herculean build rivalling his own. That’s not to mention his smile, the kind of smile that Steve could draw over and over and still be unable to appreciate all of it.

He’s also hopelessly oblivious, or hopelessly not interested in Steve. Whichever way, hopeless.

Steve, bless his soul, has got it real bad for one Sam Wilson.

HIGHLIGHTS OF JONNY’S EXIT INTERVIEW ↴

Proud and happy of the accomplishment of coming back

Feels he struggled most with speed, said he didn’t contribute how he hoped

Doesn’t know if he wants to play again, timeframe for decision: 2 weeks to a month

He has been dreaming of playing in front of a whiteout since he was a kid (🥺)

He only will come back with the Jets (his words: “if they’ll have me” - okay, kill me)

He has LOVED being part of this group and would LOVE to be part of this group again

Hasn’t played all 82 games since 17-18 (parents gave him hard time for not playing the full season in the past)

Impressed by the guys, with how resilient they are and how they can still have fun

Toughest pill to swallow was the team feeling like they were right there for playoffs

“It starts with our captain, Lows was incredible all year” (why do I get the vibe he loves calling someone else captain 😭)

Unfortunate gist of one quote “its hard not to take the blame on yourself when the team won the President’s Trophy and things really weren’t going our way at the start of the year” :(

Coach said earlier that this year’s Olympic season was the worst year for him to come back (because of the schedule), says he will weigh that considering he feels “back up to speed” and thinks that can only improve
