Our last farmers’ market of the year is imminent!

Get it in your diaries so you don’t miss out. We’ll have our veg on the stall of course. We’ll be selling our organic meat too. 

We’ll have bacon and sausage butties on the go.... and lots more! 

The wreath making is particularly popular so make sure you get here early if you want to get a wreath made.  

Wreath-making: £5 per wreath. Suitable for families, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please bring scissors or secateurs if you have them (though some will be available to borrow for a £10 deposit). Wrap up warm and don’t forget your wellies!

Summer officially ended on Monday and the weather has turned typically Autumnal in the last few days - with some much needed rain as the ground is very dry after our long summer.

Autumn means we welcome the students back to Capel Manor College and they provide some additional hands to assist in the main harvests - both squash & potatoes.  There are Charlotte potatoes in all the bags, with other varieties being stored for over the winter.  The squash will be available in the shop from next week and we've grown a wide range of varieties this year ranging from Amoro to Wintersweet to Crown Prince.

The vineyard haves also started their harvest, and early indications are that it’s going to be a great year, though they will be harvesting through to mid-October.  If you are interested in joining the volunteers please contact [email protected] Remember that you can purchase the delicious wine from the farm shop, or from their stall at the next farmers market on Sunday 13th October which will celebrate all things apple-y and the orchard volunteers will be selling apple juice and fruit from their wide range of varieties. Put the date in your diaries.

Day 3 at Hatfield House. Donkey work today - wheelbarrowing loads of MOT for a gravel path around the block paving, but must be done 💪😭 . news from the fields and ... wine!

The week of weeding has now started! We've been getting the hoes out and donned our working gloves to get on with the noble of task of weeding.

Our allium patch is looking just excellent since we tackled it and our brassicas are looking pretty weed free too. Thanks to our excellent volunteers on Friday for helping with the alliums and a big thank you to Capel Manor's fruit and veg growing group at Regents Park for making it all the way up here to tackle the brassicas. They also did an amazing job of sowing runner beans as well as getting our first runner bean plants planted out in the field too.

The large bags have the first of our broad beans in their bags. These beans were completely looked after by Capel manor's Horticulture level 3 course. They sowed the seed, planted out the seedlings, weeded the field and checked on the crop. Excellent work for us to now go in and do our first harvest. Very satisfying. Thank you!

2018 WINE RELEASE THIS SUNDAY!:

This Sunday, June 2nd there will be a special wine tasting event at Forty Hall Vineyard to celebrate English Wine Week and the release of two new single varietal still white, organic wines; 2018 Ortega and 2018 Bacchus. You can grab a bottle in Farm shop on Sunday, online from Monday or come to the Farmers' Market on Sunday, June 9th.

Our monthly Farmers Markets are back

Every second Sunday of each month from 14 April – 8 December

10am – 3pm

After a winter break, we’ll be throwing open the gates at Forty Hall Farm on Sunday 14 April 2019 for Farmers’ Market which returns for a celebration of good local food. We'll have our veg stall there as well as food heroes Holtwhites Bakery, cheese from ‘the urban artisans’, Wildes Cheese, along with sustainably caught fresh fish, top notch pies, charcuterie, preserves, ferments, cakes, bakes and more.

Come celebrate great food and community spirit at the only farmers market on a certified organic farm in London.
