The fastigiate habit of Liquidambar styraciflua 'Slender Silhouette' (sweet gum) makes it ideal for closely planted avenues or proximity to buildings. This tree provides great autumn colour with leaves colouring from orange to brilliant purplish red. These colours are most intense if planted in full sun but the trees thrive in lime-free, moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
