There is no greater ability in the universe than the ability to move an artist. It’s creating, without the risk of destruction. Artists bleed all over their art, their suffering printed on glossy paper. The muse is protected, untouched, immortal.

omg the redhead!richard madden ask, I relate because I have the exact same hair colour as him...x)
hahaha sadly I only can relate to him as far as skin color goes (I mean that was how I knew that holliday granger TOTALLY grabbed on with both hands when they were doing lady chatterley’s lover, just someone with skin that pale would get the marks he got XDDD except that he apparently tans and freckles, I just get burned) but WELL THAT’S A LOVELY HAIR COLOR THO.
hey janie!! i hope you're doing well :)) i have some philosophy related inquiries and seeing that i trust your judgement 100%, i thought of asking you! I'm writing a paper about the philosophical analysis of the Sopranos from an existentialist perspective - in spite of being rather annoyed by Sartre. Ahem. Would you call Tony Soprano a man of "bad faith"? To me, he does embody the concept pretty well, but what do you think? I don't think existentialism is your cup of tea but I do trust you XD xx
heeeey I am thank you very much! (I JUST GOT ALL THE STITCHES OUT GUYS IT’S SO FREEEIIINNGGG) :D
and okay FIRST I WANNA READ THAT PAPER WHEN YOU’RE DONE SOMEHOW BECAUSE I’M ENTIRELY DOWN WITH READING ANYTHING PHILOSOPHY + SOPRANOS RELATED, second: while existentialism is indeed not my cup of tea from what I know I think it’s spot on - like, if I don’t recall wrong the entire point of someone being in *bad faith* is that extra complicated web of lying to yourself while knowing the truth deep inside but not actually verbalizing it because you’re still convincing yourself you’re in the right and tbh it’s exactly what tony does throughout the entire thing because he wants to believe he’s in the right at all costs and continuously justifies it to himself even when he actually goes to therapy exactly to unpack all of that, so while in the beginning he might have been fairly not aware of that at some point he had to become somewhat aware and he still did it. actually I don’t remember exactly how it went because as stated I never went deep into it but wasn’t that a whole part about how in order to get out of that mind status which implies a lot of work happening unconsciously you have to have a therapist as a go between but it’s eventually useless because it just switches one kind of bad faith for another and you can’t know yourself through someone else (the psychiatrist)? Like, considering that the entire relationship between tony and jennifer is a push and pull where they are both fairly unprofessional about it even if it’s supposed to be healthy at least for him it entirely works if you apply it to that concept, especially if you bring up the part where the therapy just switches bad faith with different bad faith. but that said tony soprano is pretty much the king of lying to himself in that sense so yeah I think you’re totally on to more than something there XD
