if your first response to someone telling you about a hobby they enjoy doing is "do you make money off of it", capitalism has rotted your brain
if i tell you that i write stories and books and put them on the internet and i do it for fun and have a lot of readers who enjoy what I do, and your first thought is "how can you profit off of it", capitalism has rotted your brain
you have capitalist brainrot
art was not meant to have a pricetag or meant to be consumed by the masses and then analyzed by braindead people wondering how they could turn that enjoyment into profit
it was created as an outlet, for people to express themselves, to allow others to feel the emotion and depth poured into it so that they themselves might also feel what the artist felt in the moment
it was created to connect with yourself but also others, in any which way you want as an artist. art was not created, at its inception, to be profitable, and if you interpret it as such, you have capitalist brainrot
if i tell you that i like to write books under a pseudonym while also being a lawyer as my job, and your first and only question is "do you make money", then you have capitalist brainrot and i will immediately judge your ability to enjoy anything that is not controlled by money
money does not control my artistry, nor does it control my mind. does it control yours?
