“You like me more than you like them, right?" The Alchemist would be lying if he said that the question didn't catch him off guard.
"What, the monkeys?" He asked with an eyebrow raised, turning in his chair to look at Captain Shuggazoom who stood on the opposite side of the lab, arms crossed over his chest. Head turned to the side in hopes of not meeting with the others gaze.
The Alchemist swore he heard a tiny 'yes' from under the other's breath.
From the way he looked, it was almost like a stubborn child and the Alchemist thinks about laughing for a moment.
Though a tiny snicker ends up passing through his lips. "Jealousy is a dangerous thing, my friend." Yet Shuggazoom still doesn't turn and face the other man.
The sound of the chair moving managed to catch his attention because when Shuggazoom turned his head finally, the Alchemist was walking towards him.
Shuggazoom opens his mouth to say something, though the words seem to die on his tongue when The Alchemist's face is nearly inches away from his own.
He grumbles in frustration and he closes his mouth again. The two stare at each other for a moment.
The Alchemist leaned up and planted a soft kiss on the corner of Shuggazooms lips. "To answer your question, yes, I do like you more than the monkeys." He mumbles quietly before he pulls himself away. Watching as the edges of Shuggazoom soften, this time, allowing that laugh to come through.
A cute prompt with Captain Shuggazoom trying to confess his love to the Alchemist would be sweet please!! <3

“I’m a little busy at the moment, Captain,” Alchemist said as he kept his eyes on the monkeys. “Do you think whatever you need to say can wait?”
“I’d actually rather tell you this now rather than later,” Captain Shuggazoom said. “It’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you for a while, and I was hoping to pull you away from your work for... an hour. Maybe 2.”
Alchemist turned towards Captain Shuggazoom. “That sounds pretty important. Can’t you tell me here?”
“I can, but... it’s a personal matter. I just was hoping that you’d be able to focus on this rather than the monkeys for a moment.”
“You’re starting to concern me a little,” Alchemist said. “What kind of urgent matter could it be?”
Captain Shuggazoom took a deep breath. “Should I just get it out of the way, then?”
“Please, please. It sounds like it’s bothering you a lot.”
Captain Shuggazoom groaned. This isn’t how he imagined this situation would go and didn’t prepare much of a back-up. “I care about you a lot,” Captain Shuggazoom said bluntly. “And, I think that my care for you goes beyond simply being colleagues, or even friends. That’s why I’ve been distancing myself from you for the past month. These feelings... they don’t seem to be going away.”
Alchemist stared at Captain for a moment, completely dumbfounded. “I can see why you were so nervous about telling me this.”
Captain Shuggazoom sighed. “I know, and this must be a lot for you. But yes or no, at least I told you. I could at least get my feelings out there.”
Alchemist thought for a moment before turning back to the rest of the monkeys. “I... may have the same feelings for you, Shuggazoom. I’ve always appreciated your company through all of this. I couldn’t think of a better companion.” He turned back to the captain. “But... you do know the negative implications, right? The darkness consumes me more and more every day. If we become a couple, there will come a day where I will eventually turn on you and become a monster that you’ll inevitably have to fight off.”
“I know the risks and complications, but...” Shuggazoom thought for a moment. “As long as you are here with me, I’d rather spend our time happily. Even if it means turning on each other in the future. It’ll be painful, but worth it.”
Alchemist reached forward and rubbed Shuggazoom’s arm. “If you know this going in, then I won’t stop you.” He brought Shuggazoom’s hand up and kissed the back of it. “As I said before, I can’t think of a better companion than you.”
Captain Shuggazoom smiled as he leaned forward and kissed Alchemist’s cheek. He brought himself back, chuckling as he looked at Alchemist’s flustered face. The monkeys seemed to have caught on to what was going on as they were chanting excitedly from the other room.
