8.5 Dr. Sidle
Dragging your feet, you politely knock on Dr. Sidle’s office door and wait. Until you hear a clear, “Come in.” from inside. That redhead had successfully trained every soul in the district, not to enter unless prompted, within a month. And that wasn’t only due to some of her ‘experiments’ being rather gruesome.
Entering Sidle’s space, you were faced with a nearly immaculate desk in front of a wall of all white and shiny cabinets. The aroma of disinfectant informed you, you were lucky to arrive after she completed an examination. Which also accounted for the two empty evidence tables to the right of the desk and her currently signing a report. The door to the lab beside them is closed.
“Evening Dr. Sidle.”
She looks up, “Evening Det...”
Frowning she corrects herself, “Evening Officer Morgan. Or is it Detective now?”
“No, I’m still an officer. And here off duty to hand over a package that was delivered to my home.”
You place the package on one of the two tables and put the card beside it.
“This card was inside the package with a complete uniform shirt.”
"Did you open it?"
"Yes."
"Anyone else handle it?"
“No.”
Dr. Sidle comes over and picks up the Ziplock bag with the card. Looking at you, she states, “I’ll see what I can get out of it.”
You nod, “I appreciate it.”
After handing you an evidence form and a pen, she puts on gloves and takes the parcel and the card into the lab.
When you’re finished filling it out you sign it and place it on the desk beside the finished report. No use interrupting the doctor to hand it over. You notice the finished report is about the knifes you confiscated at PTMC. But the evidence itself is nowhere to be seen. Taking another look at the top, you find ‘Evidence sign-out’ with todays date and timestamped 8:23 am by Captain Mason, with his badge number underneath.
