Muna starts to question Yata’s interests and how he’d be as a romantic partner to fushi, but Yata misinterprets and thinks the blue king is hitting on him and ‘Saruhiko I swear I’m not making this up!’

This is because Munakata can’t be normal so he’s probably asking things like what does Yata like to do for fun and what does he look for in a partner. Maybe Yata and Fushimi aren’t even dating yet here, they’ve reconciled and Yata’s absolutely been kinda starting to think about things in that direction, vaguely beginning to realize his own crush and wondering if Fushimi would ever reciprocate. It’s blinding obvious to everyone around them but for the moment everyone is too polite to say anything about it (or rather, maybe they just don’t want to be dragged into all that mess). Munakata though feels like it’s best to be direct about these things, if Homra’s Yatagarasu feels he would be a good partner for Fushimi it’s up to someone to make sure that this would be a proper match and who better for such a job than Fushimi’s King.

The next time Yata stops by S4 to pick up Fushimi Munakata decides to put his plan in motion, walking up to Yata and making polite small talk where he skillfully uncovers Yata’s motives and personality quirks. That’s what Munakata thinks anyway, in actuality he basically pins Yata to a wall and starts asking things about his preferences, his dating likes and dislikes, and his future plans and would those include anyone special. Yata is absolutely confused and trying very hard not to be cowed by the Blue King staring him right in the face, wondering at first if he’s being bullied or something and determined not to give in to the stupid Blue King. Then Munakata starts in on the questioning of Yata’s sex life (or lack thereof, in Yata’s case) and Yata is like wait…what the fuck is he hitting on me. Munakata remains totally calm and focused as he asks what Yata looks for in a partner and Yata’s head is spinning, Saruhiko’s King is coming on to him this is so creepy. 

Luckily for him Fushimi appears before Munakata can start talking about safe sex, Yata quickly ducks away from Munakata like finally Saruhiko come on let’s get out of here. Fushimi doesn’t get why Yata’s in such a rush and Yata’s like your weird King was hitting on me. Fushimi glances back at Munakata, who is watching them go with a mild smile, and clicks his tongue as he says no, Captain is like that to everyone. Yata has a moment of ‘wait what’ and then he’s like no, no, he was seriously hitting on me, he was asking where I like to go on dates while being right in my face. Fushimi sighs and says again, Captain is like that to everyone, and Yata is both confused and once more wondering if Scepter 4 is okay.

This drawing took a few weeks, around late January of 2025, I just procrastinated a bit for it and only finished it this week.

The Red alphabet boys in S4 uniforms. (Everybody Lives and gets along and Munakata thinks it would be fun to have them come over to be dressed up and photographed and it would annoy Mikoto and Tatara loves it.) Chitose goads Akagi that he’ll be the hottest; Akagi Will Not Lose. Except they both do. Fujishima and Eric quietly appear looking Age-of-Sail-scruffy-sharp and so good that Awashima borrows them as morale boosters for the Records Dept. Bandou gets helicopter lessons. Dewa gets Blue Hat.

This is definitely a post-series Fun Bonding Event, Totsuka thinks wouldn’t it be exciting if they switched clansmen for a day and Munakata finds that an intriguing prospect (Everybody Lives AU where Munakata and Totsuka duo are a menace). The S4 alphabet get sent over to Bar Homra where they learn to mix drinks from Kusanagi and be forced into hobbies with Totsuka, and the Homra alphabet get to go to S4 and wear fun uniforms and learn how to be police. Akagi says he doesn’t like the Blues or anything but he has to admit their outfits are kinda cool, he’s always wanted a dramatic coat. He thinks he’ll probably look really cool for the ladies too, Chitose laughs and says he’ll be the one turning the most heads. Bandou probably gets in on this too, the three of them making a bet on who looks the best while Dewa rolls his eyes. When they step out in their new clothes though there’s a clear winner, as somehow Eric and Fujishima manage to look kinda scruffy but respectable while Chitose, Bandou and Akagi are all giving different varieties of guy who stole someone’s clothes. Awashima is so impressed she requests their assistance in the records department and Fujishima gets to play with the cat while all the ladies keep finding excuses to stop by and chat with Eric. Eric barely notices and goes to help Fujishima with the cat.

Bandou is bemoaning being looked over again when Munakata appears and wonders if anyone would like a fun educational helicopter lesson. Bandou and Akagi both volunteer, Dewa drags Chitose off before he can also volunteer because Dewa has Concerns about Safety (meanwhile Dewa found a blue hat somewhere and is wearing it doggedly despite it not being an official part of the uniform, after multiple people kept forgetting who he was including his own fellow clansmen). Ten minutes later Bandou is screaming because why did the Blue King just jump out of the helicopter in mid-air, the lessons weren’t done yet how the hell does he land this thing. Akagi’s PDA rings and Munakata helpfully calls to say there was an emergency, please return the helicopter safely to S4. Bandou is like how and Akagi urges him to pretend it’s a video game, in the end their lives are saved due to Bandou once spending an entire week solely playing this one flight sim game to try and impress a girl who was into helicopters. Akagi and Bandou come stumbling back into the office, both looking about to faint, Dewa adjusts his hat and tells Chitose see, I saved your life.

I think Reisi would really like social media. I'd like to see him using gifs (does he call them G-I-Fs?) And acronyms and giggling at a funny tiktok and running a Scepter 4 twitter account where nothing more important than your worker's birthdays is posted.

I agree Munakata would very much enjoy social media, I think he would see it as a splendid way to connect with people even from thousands of miles away. He definitely decides S4 needs a bunch of official social media accounts as a way of spreading their pure cause and message of justice across the world. Poor Fushimi is in charge of creating most of these and maintaining them, which means most of the accounts just have regular birthday posts that he scheduled in advance and nothing else. Munakata does enjoy taking over the twitter account occasionally though, like oh look Fushimi-kun I found one of these very amusing ‘memes’ that the children are into these days, we should retweet this. He will occasionally post deep life advice and also pictures of puzzles. Also sometimes Munakata likes looking at his recommended feed and aggressively community noting people who are Wrong on the Internet, not out of any sense of malice but a true and pure desire to educate the masses. Alphabet boys D-H are in charge of the official TikTok account and Munakata is so pleased that they’ve taken their duty seriously and are often posting diverting workplace moments (Awashima is glad her Captain is happy but also shouldn’t they be working). Munakata himself loves to make TikToks of himself giving speeches or lectures with fun background music or special effects, look look Fushimi-kun this add on made it look like I am a cartoon dog. Munakata is just enjoying bonding with all their many followers (9, the alphabet squad and Awashima, who didn’t want Captain to get discouraged).

If munakata was Fushimi’s guardian does that mean Yata has to suffer asking his permission to date him? Or even get a stern “I need him back by X” what if Munakata gets to experience the horror of your ward dating someone you consider bad news. Or would he actually be scarily fond of Yata

I feel like Munakata would be in this space where no one is quite sure if he hates or likes Yata, like is he trolling Yata or being fond of him XD When he finds out that Yata is planning to confess to Fushimi Munakata makes certain that Yata is aware that Munakata is Fushimi’s official guardian (even though Fushimi is a legal adult now so it shouldn’t matter, but Munakata feels even so there is protocol to be observed) and that Munakata expects to be treated as such. Yata is clueless because it’s not like he’s dated anyone before and Saruhiko definitely isn’t going to ask Yata’s parents for permission but also despite his claims to the contrary Yata really was raised well and has this feeling like he should be asking for permission properly. He’s probably already asked Fushimi out by the point this happens and Yata ends up mentioning it to Fushimi, who clicks his tongue and snorts all you don’t have to ask Captain, don’t be an idiot. Even so the next time Yata comes to pick Fushimi up from S4 he runs into Munakata and decides to just say it, that he’s dating Saruhiko and there’s nothing Munakata can say against it so don’t even try. Munakata takes in this speech with a mild smile and an ‘I see,’ and then invites Yata into his office for tea. Yata is nervous, like he’s expecting to meet the stereotypical father with a shotgun, but he gets something even worse: a King who likes to give lectures.

After being exhausted by questions about his ‘intentions’ (which freaks Yata out because wait why are you asking me about marriage why are you asking me about safe sex Saru and I haven’t even had a first date yet) Yata is allowed to go free and resolves to avoid Munakata as much as possible. Of course this doesn’t work out for him at all because no matter what time Yata shows up at S4 Munakata is somehow right there to remind him that Fushimi-kun has work in the morning and please have him back by a decent hour. One time Yata tries to sneak in through a window to avoid him and instead he gets caught almost immediately, Munakata assuming that oh my it appears you were planning illicit actions with our Fushimi-kun and have we discussed the merits of safe sex come I will give you a tutorial with some fruit in the kitchen. Yata plaintively tries asking Fushimi to tell his King to back off and Fushimi just gives him the dead fish eyes as he says Yata has to learn to deal with it. Meanwhile the alphabet squad all feel a bit bad for Yata and no one is entirely sure if Munakata is trying to be sociable towards Yata’s boyfriend or if he actually dislikes Yata (or more succinctly, is Munakata bullying Yata because he hates him or because Munakata likes him).

AU where Misaki’s mom is still single and she comes to visit her son. She meets munakata and they develop a friendship that maybe develops into a crush/relationship. Misaki is horrified and Saruhiko is praying the captain is not interested in women.

This is going to make everyone think Munakata likes MILFs too, don’t start that rumor. Imagine AU where maybe Yata’s mom gets divorced again or something after Megumi is born so she’s single. Post-ROK Yata’s been reconnecting with her more often (maybe he didn’t even know she’d gotten divorced again and now he feels bad that he left her alone all this time and she reassures him that it wasn’t his fault and she’s the adult, she doesn’t need him to take care of her). She’s even visited the bar a couple times, at first she was a little distrustful of this seedy bar where her son’s friends are but Kusanagi charms her and she gets to meet Anna and now she’s mostly okay with her kid being in a gang. Of course she asks about Saruhiko all the time too, Yata explains that Fushimi has a government job now.

One day Fushimi agrees to meet with Yata and his mom for lunch but he’s running late, Yata’s mom suggests they meet him at his work. Yata isn’t thrilled at going to S4 but he does get along with some of the alphabet boys now so it’s not as bad as it used to be. He’s a little mortified to be bringing his mom along though, as if he’s some little kid. When he gets to S4 Hidaka lets him know that Fushimi is on his way back from a patrol and Yata can wait for him, probably looking at Yata’s mom all curious but he doesn’t want to ask. While they’re waiting though Munakata appears, he had heard that Homra’s Yata Misaki was here with a woman and what a surprise, to see him accompanied this way. Yata is internally groaning because this is the last guy he wanted to meet, grumbling that this is his mom and it’s none of Munakata’s business. Yata’s mom scolds him lightly for being rude and Munakata pushes up his glasses as he says it’s no trouble, he has become good acquaintances with Yata Misaki. Yata is like we’re not…whatever you just called us, Munakata is ignoring him and already chatting with Yata’s mom instead.

Finally Fushimi shows up and they drag Yata’s mom and Munakata away from each other but then imagine like a week later Fushimi and Yata are hanging out together in the city and they spot Munakata and Yata’s mom having coffee. Yata is ready to storm in and drag his mom away, Fushimi clicks his tongue and says not to make a scene. Yata asks his mom about it later, trying to sound nonchalant and totally failing, and Yata’s mom says they had a good conversation and Munakata is such an interesting person, he’s so well read and charismatic. Yata’s stomach drops and he’s like don’t see that guy again, he’s weird, and Yata’s mom laughs and says there’s nothing wrong with her having a friend. After this Yata and Fushimi both keep catching the two of them together, Yata’s mom is coming by enough that even the rest of S4 has noticed. Everyone is wondering if Munakata was the MILF lover all along (Yata overhears this and is like ‘what’s a MILF?’, Fushimi wisely tells him it’s nothing don’t worry about it). The Homra guys are aware of it and enjoy teasing Yata about what if the Blue King becomes your stepdad, are you gonna have to call him Papa, Yata is dying because what if it happens. Prior to this Fushimi was like 80% certain Munakata was not interested in women but he isn’t so sure now and of course any attempt to ask Munakata directly is met with a glasses shine and an inscrutable smile.
