I feel like the fact that the actress who played Captain Rachel Garrett ended up recast later as both a Klingon and a Cardassian REALLY hammers home how much we as the audience were robbed of the awesomeness of her performance as Captain Garrett on a more frequent basis.

Yesterday’s Enterprise shows us how much Tasha Yar deserved more, but dammit, so too did Captain Rachel Garrett and the Enterprise-C. This ship and crew not just went to the rescue of a Klingon colony to defend them against the Romulans, cementing peace between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, they went back to this impossible fight to do so, knowing it would cost them their lives.

I’m glad that the novels have shown the barest glimpse of their service, but dammit, we need more. More novels, give them a Short Trek. Hell, let’s have like a mini-series of some sort that gives them attention - now that Short Treks is explicitly exploring Star Trek beyond just Discovery, maybe we can get more of them in various points in Trek history (the animated ones can portray settings/time frames that don’t require them to rebuild sets that no longer exist), or even expand Short Treks into like mini-series or something.
