CAPTAIN ROCKET (vol. 1) #1 (November, 1951).
Despite the indicia stating that this comic was published bi-monthly, this is the only known issue of Captain Rocket, who is the great-grandson of the another hero, Captain Bi-Plane.
P.L. Publishing, headquartered in New York City, apparently acquired the Captain - as well as The Space Falcon and Aurora of Jupiter - from Canadian comics, and decided to reprint their adventures in the States.
The stories are your typical generic science fiction/space opera comic stories of the era, complete with odd gadgets, strange creatures and aliens, and "science" that makes no sense at all.
Sadly, as is often the case with comic books, the art inside is nowhere as good as the cover.
