Has there ever been a time when you were judged unfairly or stereotyped?? If so, what happened?
-Honestly, growing up I was probably stereotyped more than a I realised. But as I grow older, I call people out on it so they know they're wrong for that
After that, there’s nothing left to say, cause she just slayed my entire existence.

The (Mis)adventures of Captain Widescreen #2
So I'm in class right now, bored as hell. But this is a story that happened yesterday while I when I got to work.
Enjoy..............
It started out as a bad day already. I woke up late, and therefore was late to work.
Once I had rushed out of the house and gotten on the bus things were looking up. I was gonna be late for work, but at least I was going to work.
Taking the elevator up to the floor I work on, I put my mittens in my coat pocket so I could grab my nametag from my bag. I walked out of the elevator and said hello to the receptionist. Then I walked to my cubicle and started taking off my coat.
I felt in my pocket, and realized I didn't have my mittens. Damn.
I thought about going back out to check for them, but I realized they'd probably be gone, cause I must have dropped them on the elevator.
I actually got mildly depressed cause it was freaking cold out there. (I mean, Toronto is always cold in the winter, but it just hurts more when you don't have mittens to block the cold).
During my lunch break, I went into the nearby shopping mall/area to see if I could find a pair of mittens to buy. I found some, but I didn't find any that I really liked. I figured I could wait until I got to a store that sold mittens I liked.
Later on that day, I was getting ready to leave, and decided to throw some of the garbage from my lunch out. Then I ended up talking with a coworker well past the time I was supposed to leave. We ended up leaving together, and lo and behold, I found my mittens.
They were right on the receptionist's desk.
The moral of the story is, don't worry about things you can't control. If you can't do anything about a situation, don't worry about it.

The (Mis)adventures of Captain Widescreen #1
It is currently 3:55am as I am putting this into tumblr. I can't sleep, so I figured, why not get started on something that I've wanted to do for a while.
These stories are things that happen to me, and my life is mostly a series of unfortunate events, with some comedic relief, and a dash of good days.
Without further ado, welcome to my life.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So today, a girl I don't know well (or like that much) asked me a question. We don't talk already, so I knew automatically from the approach that she needed a favour *cue rolling eyes*
She asked me if I could sign her name on the attendance sheet for a class that we both have. In fact it's required for our program, so it's mandatory. When she asked me, I had 2 reactions: internal, and external.
Internal
External
My external^ face was coupled with the words "Yeah, sure." Mind you, I was being sarcastic. And the poor girl got excited.
Then another girl who was sitting beside her got giddy and asked me to write her name down too. And I was like "yeah sureeeee" again, sarcasm, and she bought it too.
They even went as far as to text me their names, so I could write it on the sheet.
Now you're probably wondering why they had to skip the class, aren't you? They said they needed to study for a midterm they had that evening.
Now let me tell you the things wrong already: - signing their names on the said attendance sheet involves two things: your full name, and a signature. How the hell was I supposed to do their signatures. - they have different handwriting than I do. The professor could easily look at another week of attendance and know the handwriting is different. - the class is only for an hour. They could easily stop studying for one measly hour and go back to it after. - the professor who teaches the class is also the academic integrity officer. Yeah, that's right, the one you have to see when you cheat on a test/assignment/quiz and face disciplinary action. I am not getting a mark of academic misconduct on my record, thanks. - I WAS BEING SARCASTIC WHEN I SAID YES!! THEY SHOULD KNOW DAMN WELL THAT THERE'S NO POINT IN ME TRYING TO SAVE THEIR BEHINDS. AND I'D RISK GETTING MYSELF IN TROUBLE? HELLLLLLLLL NO.
So then I get to class, and tell my friends about that encounter, and we all share a good laugh, because I wasn't gonna sign their names down.
So the attendance sheet comes to me, I write my name down, and then feel my phone vibrate. It was a text from the same girl reminding me to write their names down.
I looked at the message, chuckled, finished doing my signature, and passed the paper on like a boss.
And you know what the best part about that day was? The class was mandatory.
The moral of the story? If there's attendance being taken, go to the damn class.
Peace, -CW
Style Watch: Janelle
This is something I talked about doing in 2014. Style Watch.
This is where I could talk to people about what inspires them to dress they way they do.
First up, my good friend, (and sorta cousin, lol) @itsjaaye !
Age: 18
School: Oakwood University
Here are her answers to my questions:
What's your style?
I keep it simple. I like to be comfortable, but keep it cute at the same time.
Any designers you like?
I don't have one really.
Note: I physically gasped when I read this lol.
What music are you listening to now?
Definitely J. Cole. His new album is incredible; Kanye, Drake, Frank Ocean, Chance The Rapper, Jhene Aiko, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Elle Varner, just to name a few. I love artists that stay true and authentic to their craft.
Any style inspirations?
Elle Varner. I like how she keeps it simple but very classy. I love Rihanna, Zendaya, & Justine Skye's style as well.
I also watch different style bloggers on YouTube like ItsMyRayeRaye, NaturallyNeiicy & Tasha Green in particular. I like to see how they put different pieces together.
Favourite stores?
Anywhere that has good prices on their clothes really. I don't have any favourite stores in particular, but I do find myself in H&M a lot. I love thrift stores as well.
Thrifting or nah?
Absolutely! Thrifting is one of the best ways to shop. You never know what you'll find. It's one of the best places to find brand name clothes for cheap. I feel like I'm on an adventure every time I walk into the store.
What do you have more of, clothes, accessories, or shoes?
I definitely have more of clothes. As of recently, I've been buying more shoes and heels. I don't wear accessories as much, but I definitely love them.
All that's left to say now is SLAY Janelle, SLAYYYYY.
