The only reminder are recurring nightmares, and they get more and more intense and distressing as time goes on. 5 Times, Martin and Jon almost meet again. 1 Time, they finally do...

Sick/Injured Fic + Poorly Timed Confession

Juno has the flu, and because we all know he has to be literally locked into his apartment to take a sick day from work, Peter volunteers to stay with him and nurse him back to health. 

The centerpoint of Peter’s strategy is this absolutely vile-tasting Brahmese soup that Mag used to make him when he was younger, and just smelling it is enough to make Juno want to jump to his feet and run a mile to get away from it.

He really appreciates Peter doing this for him, though, and he’s trying really, really hard to not be a total brat about it, but he’s miserable and it’s just awful. 

After three meals that are entirely this horrible soup, Juno finally cracks--  he thinks he’d rather be sick forever than slurp another mouthful of it-- and he confesses to Peter that he can’t stand the stuff. 

Peter looks a little bit relieved-- he can’t stand the stuff, either, but Mag used to swear by it, and so he dumps it down the sink, and then he opens the windows and sticks some lemon peels down the garbage disposal just to get rid of the smell. 

Juno admits that maybe the soup worked after all-- now that it’s gone and he can breathe without gagging, he’s starting to feel better.
