Made some luminaries this morning for the craft fair flea market I'll be vending at next month. Super happy with how these came out perfect for the spring!
I've been so busy helping my husband with and at the tattoo shop that it's been a minute since I've had some free time to draw for myself. I just started some finger flowers for a new mixed media piece. It's been a little while so I'm looking forward to it. I've been drawing them in my down time from answering phones and making appointments. Looking forward to doing a background so I can start putting it all together.
I saw this on someone else's fb and immediately stole the idea. I don't even care if it's March when I'm starting it. The concept of the jar is that throughout the year you put memories in it. Dates of something big, movie tickets, a receipt to a fancy dinner, things like that. Then on NYE you open it and read them. I love the idea because when I got married my husband and I made a time capsule for our guest book and had everyone write letters to us about how they met us, advice for marriage, cute things and we read them together on our first anniversary. I'm such a sap so I love ideas like this a lot. I can't wait to show my husband because fourteen is our number and so far this is a big year for us, I only wish I started it on January 1st! I was able to put a few dates and things down but can't wait to keep it going!
Here is a mixed media mandala I did a while back. The background is made up of layers of scrap book paper and tissue paper. The design is acrylic paint and gel pens. It sucks that the gel pens are metallic and don't photograph the best to do the piece justice. I love the colors though of this one, it was a lot of fun when I was working on it.
Up close of something I started recently. I love my watercolor pencils. I've been making some banging art with them lately.
Here's a pencil drawing I've been working on. I looooooove working in color so it's rare for me to do a detailed pencil drawing that takes more than 5 minutes haha. What do you think? I'm not going to lie I love my knees popping into the picture :)
I recently participated in a "pay it forward" thing on fb. My cousin who lives in Florida was one of the first to respond which made me excited that it was people that I don't always get to see or talk to. I made this watercolor painting for her and her husband. I'm looking forward to putting it in the mail this week for her. Would love to see her reaction when she gets it :)
Snow day from work. Made a badass breakfast and now I'm baking some sugar cookies. My husband is one lucky man! Haha :P
