commission for @captainoflifeandlemons of some NaNoWriMo characters!
Heya, main blog for anomalousresources here—I would *love* to hear any more thoughts you might have on your w359/atla crossover! It's such a cool idea and I really like what you've shared about it so far.
Thank you! I have so much loose worldbuilding for this and so little plot.
Lovelace is originally from the Earth Kingdom and has mastered earthbending. She was well on her way to mastering firebending when she (along with her spirit companion Rhea the phoenix) had an unfortunate accident with a volcano.
Lovelace has not failed to notice that Hilbert bears a certain resemblance to the person responsible for her ending up inside Wolf Mountain. Were it not for the fact that all evidence would suggest that it’s been a hundred years, she would think they were the same man.
The fact that Alexander Hilbert is descended from Elias Selberg is almost a coincidence. There are much more relevant connections between the two, namely their connections with the Order of the Golden Future.
As for what the Order itself is related to, well that’s a long story. The only thing that Lovelace really knows about it is that it’s got connections to the royal line of the Fire Nation, the Pryce family.
When the crew ends up questioning Hilbert, they get a little more information. The Order keeps tabs on spiritual hotspots, not just Wolf Mountain but also an oasis near the North Pole, a swamp where travelers sometimes see visions of the future, a hidden library in the middle of the desert.
Hilbert was told to report to Cutter if any unusual events occurred, and to incapacitate any other witnesses until he received further instructions.
The team is settled on one thing- they can’t stay here. They don’t know what Cutter or the Order is planning.
And, they need to try to find some way for Eiffel and Lovelace to master airbending.
They agree to head out for the Air Temples, in hopes that they could find some hidden knowledge. They decide to take Hilbert with them, despite Lovelace’s protests.
Everyone climbs up onto Rhea’s back (she’s a truly enormous bird), and with a sharp cry they take off.
None of them notice a particularly strong eddy of air form into a humanoid shape before whizzing off after them.
If you're still taking aro writing prompts, maybe Lucretia or Magnus with D or Q?
the Magnus prompt is written here~
Q: creating a space for yourself
This was her favorite place on the ship, a place only she and Davenport knew existed. Sure, Lucretia had her own private quarters, but people could find her there. When she needed to be alone—really alone—she could come here.
It wasn’t the safest place to be, and one cycle this little outcropping had gotten blasted by the Hunger, but Davenport had helped her to rebuild it. He’d even installed a ladder for her to climb down, so it was less dangerous to get to—though sometimes, when she was feeling particularly adventurous, she would leap from ledge to ledge anyway, just for the thrill.
Davenport left her alone here, always. If there was anyone else who understood the need for privacy, for isolation, it was him. Lucretia admired her captain, but that little trait won her love.
He had his own hidden spot, she knew, though he’d never shown it to her. That was alright by her—if there was anyone else who understood the need for secrecy, for independence... it was her.
For the crossover ask game—Hera from w359 in TPP (Juno Steel or Second Citadel, take your pick)?
Okay, so the first thing we need to address. Are we putting Hera in a body? Or is she still an AI? Cause that REALLY impacts how we’re looking at this stuff, huh.
In Juno Steel: I think in Juno Steel she could still work as an AI and I think that she and rita would get along so so so well, I wanna see that interaction so bad y’all. Bonus: Who needs therapy more, Juno Steel or Doug Eiffel? Trick question! Both.
In the Second Citadel: Silly, they don’t have computers in the Second Citadel.
In all seriousness, Damien and Hera could do group therapy for anxiety and that would be good for both of them, I think.
Conclusion: Get! Therapy! Podcast! Characters!
ars PARADOXICA, for the ask thing?
aaaa, thanks so much for asking!!
Favorite character: Esther and Sally. Don’t make me choose between them. I miss them so much, omg. I fell in love with Sally instanly, and to hear her developement was one of the best midia experiences I’ve ever had. And to see Esther grow in the story, to learn more about her and her complexity… I love my disaster lesbian.
Least Favorite character: Donovan, ew. Straight from a old cold-war movie. His nickname is “Wild Bill”, come on. What good can come from that.
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Esther x Bridget. (OMG, THEY WARM MY HEART). Mateo x Nikhil. (best jock x nerd pairing ever). June x Helen (Thanks, Julianna, for blessing my life with them). Penny x Chet. June x Quentin.
Character I find most attractive: Omg, so hard. Sally, I guess? Her nerdness is just so loveable. And I love her voice (Kristen, you’re amazing)
Character I would marry: Helen. Omg, I’d her all the love she deserves (sorry, Anthony). Oh, to hear her sing in day to day life <3. She’s such a cool and beautiful person.
Character I would be best friends with: SALLY, NO DOUBTS.
A random thought: I really wish we could’ve seen more of Petra and Carman together. The sadness that permeates their story is essential to the plot, and to Petra development, but I really loved Carmen and wanted to see more of her.
An unpopular opinion: I didn’t really like the fighting scenes. At one point or another, mainly in the last season, it all became to confusing for me and made me lose my energy to find out what was happening a little.
My canon OTP: Esther x Bridget (i cRy)
Non-canon OTP: Helen x June.
Most badass character: Esther, I suppose. She’s just so strong. The judgement episode, omg. And she’s constantly growing, fixing her mistakes, really feeling bad for the errors she comitted and working to change what she can… I love her.
Pairing I am not a fan of: Chet x Anyone, pretty much. I really couldn’t picture him in a relationship with anyone. Maybe cause I’m not a big fan of him, even if I find him interesting.
Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I don’t think anyone was “screwed up”, but I felt that Jack was kinda wasted, his friendship with Esther was so good… and then he just vanished and never really had much attention again.
Favourite friendship: So hard. Ars has so many amazing friendships, it’s incredible. I guess I’ll go with Sally and Athony’s ‘cause I love to suffer.
🌻 (if you're still doing the thing) ?
(I am, I’m just getting to these very slowly because it turns out loose prompts are just Like That for me and also I got a lot of them)
So I was reading about bog bodies yesterday after falling down a Wikipedia spiral and I have decided I should share my two favorite facts that I learned:
1) Lindow Man’s official name is Lindow II, but other people apparently took to calling him either Pete Marsh or Pete Bogg, both of which I find incredible
2) Lindow Man was discovered by a couple of workers when one of them threw what he thought was a peat-covered stick at the other and the “stick” turned to to be a 2,000 year-old preserved human foot
Jon, Georgie, & Daisy for the ask game!
ok Jon definitely for lab partner cuz i feel like he would actually do things, Georgie for elevator cuz i think she would be good company (and being trapped in there with jon for that long would be Hell, i love the man but he would probably combust within four minutes) and i guess that leaves Daisy for mcdonald’s employee trainer lol. i think she’d be a good boss
captainoflifeandlemons replied to your post “Hey man, I know it's been a while since we've really spoken (I've p...”
Ahh sorry I'm slightly late, then, but I'm glad it went well!! (and Quiltbag was at least 24% just angst sessions at any given point, so that hardly disqualifies you)
Ok tbh yeah, it was like 24% angst, 70% trying to bait the conservative Christian kids into arguments, and 6% actual relevant discussions lmao.. Good times
