i just saw your ask/answer re: presidents and we actually just talked about how shitty andrew jackson was in my bio class today. (my bio prof did a better history lesson than any of my high school classes...) did you know there's a group called women on 20s that's petitioning to replace jackson with a woman on the $20 bill?

the thing is he really was a pretty decent president as far as things he got done, so it’s hard to say he was a shitty president. hell, he’s not even a boring president. he’s kind of the teddy roosevelt of the 19th century in terms of how interesting a life he lead, and he’s fun to learn about. but he was a shitty human being who disregarded the rest of the government entirely and acted like a child while committing mass genocide. but people who liked his policies in the past have overlooked that and it’s really only really being brought up recently.

yeah i heard about that and absolutely love the idea!! honestly we probably should. there’s far better presidents/other historical figures that we should be glorifying before we glorify jackson in such a manner.

that's a good point. i had the same feeling re: fridging, i just jumped on the idea of having peggy in there. ahhh i fully support this new idea. also, peggy carter, zombie fighter. please.

oh god…can we have both? i think the peggy thing kinda tracks bc that parallel’s bucky’s ws era, atoning for killing good people w/o control. and then steve has to forgive him and reconcile buck as his best friend, etc. (also bi steve rogers ofc)

okay so here's the problem I have with that. in warm bodies a man kills a man so he can feel guilty and fall for a woman. in this au, it would be a man killing a woman for a similar purpose, which makes it feel like fridging to me.

what do you think?

i'm thinking, what if bucky kills erskine, then howard stark, then all the howling commandos, killing tfa-era people who are closer and closer to steve... until he gets to peggy and his humanity has returned enough that he doesn't kill her.

but steve and peggy were nearing a breakup already, torn apart over disagreement about how the war should be fought, and in the end, steve and bucky's love saves them all.
