Cedric would still be living alone, sleeping around, not very tied down or as responsible as he is now with Melissa. He also wouldn’t have a child on the way, obviously. But aside from that, he would also still be lying to himself, telling himself that things are okay when they’re not, telling himself that acting cocky and confident will hide what he’s feeling and that keeping everything to himself would be for the best. He wouldn’t have Melissa’s support, know that someone else hurts and is insecure. He’d be alone, terrified, and incredibly desperate for someone in his life, which would only increase the frequency of his one night stands and his risk for an STD.

Long story short—Cedric would be hurting himself more if Melissa wasn’t there. He’d hurt himself, and he’d be quite miserable but would hide it from everyone.
