This story takes place in New York, more specifically on Thompson Street.
The young and promising visiting team, San Jose Sharks, was set to face the home team, the New York Rangers, at the iconic MSG on October 23rd.
The visitors arrived in the city a few days in advance, as happens from time to time.
Among them were the NHL’s sensation, Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, two talented young men enjoying the city with clear plans in mind.
Their adventure together began on October 20th at the famous Blue Heaven bar. It was meant to be just a quick stop.
Keep in mind that they prefer to be discreet, barely use social media, and like to keep a low profile. However, they didn't expect to run into Judi Jupiter, who ended up filming a series of videos with them that would later go viral all over social media. Being the polite and sweet young men they are, they happily obliged.
You might think these two brilliant young players would be spending their night in the big city out clubbing with their teammates, right? Wrong. The plans were bigger, better, and more expensive.
And by that time, their reservation slot was approaching. But where was this reservation? It couldn't be just anywhere, of course, it had to be at one of the best restaurants in the city and the world: Carbone. A table for two, just the two of them, because that’s all that matters.
Carbone is famous for its Italian cuisine, low lighting, closely packed tables, and an intimate, romantic, and inspiring atmosphere.
It’s a cozy and romantic place, where the tables are so tiny that two hockey players can probably barely fit comfortably without their knees locking and touching unintentionally.
Many couples pay a fortune and wait months for a table there, as reservations must be made at least 30 days in advance, requiring an upfront booking fee to guarantee the spot. Tables are limited and sell out in seconds.
You have to be organized and extremely quick to book, everyone is competing for a spot in that incredible environment, and very few succeed. But, of course, the Prince of Chestnut Hill could. He always gets what he wants.
And that is how the two San Jose Sharks stars spent their night on 10/20/2025, having dinner together at one of the hottest spots in NYC.
On the 23rd, the young team defeated the hosts in a beautiful comeback victory: 6-5.
Three goals went to the owner of the green eyes, two goals to the owner of the blue eyes, and two assists for each.
I don’t know what happened in that beautiful restaurant that day, but it definitely helped.
(No, this is not a fanfic. It actually happened, in that exact chronology).
