#Cardhalla is lovely... #GenCon50
Cardhalla at various points during Gen Con 2016.
Cardhalla is a regular event at Gen Con, allowing attendees to blow off steam by building card houses and the like with donated TCG cards (Magic: TG, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, whatever).
And then on Saturday night, they destroy it by throwing coins at it. They auction off the first throw (for over $2500 dollars this year!) and then that and all money thrown at the structures is collected and sent to Gen Con's annual charity partner.
(I love Gen Con's charity events, of which Cardhalla is only one. Proving every year that nerds can do great things, and that Gen Con in particular is a bastion of acceptance, kindness, and sanity in a sometimes toxic subculture).

Cardhalla at GENCON 2016. Gen Con at the Indiana Convention Center last weekend. Cardhalla is a charity event that has been held at Gen Con since 1999. This year’s charity was ‘The PourHouse’, a community-style street outreach with a unique peer advocacy approach.
Thanks to everyone at @gen_con for pitching in at #Cardhalla. Shout out to Logan for winning the first throw. It was a great honor. #TheLarpGuy #Larping #Larp #larper #larpers #GenCon #GenCon2016 (at Gen Con 2016)
