If you live in the Midwest, here is my advice to live tomorrow's arctic blast:
Don't go anywhere, but start your car, please. Start your car every hour or two to keep the gas flowing if you have to leave in case of an emergency. It'll keep the car happy and good. If you know you aren't going, do it still so to don't have to go out to buy new parts like spark plugs or a battery. If you have a garage, put the car in. Some car parts are expensive and I don't want you to spend money because of the weather. Your money could go to coffee, taxes, rent, gas-anything, really (please don't buy drugs, though. It's bad for you).
Double layer. If to go out, wear at least two or three long sleeves and a coat, hat, gloves (Double up if you want) and a scarf if you don't have a face mask. If you are outside for more than 5 minutes with exposed skin, you could be getting some frost bite, and it'll hurt when you warm up again (might scar even). Double up in blankets, too, if you're staying home because, honey, you deserve to be warm. All in all, try to dress warm and stay warm. The last thing you need is getting the flu or something worse. Your health is very important.
*DO NOT LET YOUR PET(S) OUTSIDE FOR MORE THAN 5 MINUTES!! For everything, please keep them inside. Don't let them be out there long. Sure, let them run around to tire them out for five minutes, but bring them in. They could get frost bite or get sick.
If you have to go to work tomorrow, throw a blanket, a neon pink or orange signs/markers/flares, and a box of cereal in the car. That's if you are stuck on the side of the road and to need help. Put the signs out to mark as flares, grab your blanket, call help. If you know it's going to be awhile, turn your phone off to save battery. If you get hungry, the cereal is there for you, but save some for later.
If you know you can't make it to work, call in and tell them before you walk out that door. I'm sure they'll understand. If you want to sound really good about it, ask if you could work another day pr more hours to make today up. That'll impress your boss to your dedication work and it'll help make up the hours you missed. It'll show them that you want to be there--it might help get noticed by the person who signs your check and get yourself a raise.
If you or someone you know does not have a place to stay, please go to the town's crisis center, hospital, police/fire station, Salvation Army, or a friend's house to keep warm. You shouldn't be out in this cold, so go in and warm up. Like I said, your health is very important and you shouldn't get sick because of the weather.
If anything, please stay home for the day. Watch T.V. . Snuggle up and sleep. Read a book-hell, write a book. Just stay indoors, but, if you got to go out, I really hope my advice helps. If you have more questions, DM me and I'll try to answer the best I can.
