Just had my home fire-safety surveyor.
He was super lovely and gave me lots of information which I wouldn’t have even thought about. He left me with a comprehensive booklet, and a long stick to be able to reach the fire alarms whilst in my wheelchair. He’s fitted fire alarms in all of the rooms (they were only in the kitchen and hallway before), and he’s organising me a “hard of hearing” alarm (I don’t have brilliant hearing but the main function is that it will vibrate under my pillow to wake me up, as my medications make me a very deep sleeper). Also, they are going to refer me to a CareLine which means I’ll wear a pendant and I can press it to get immediate help, and it will have a “falls sensor” so if I fall or have a seizure it can detect the problem and go straight to emergency services.
I feel so fortunate to have such wonderful help from these lovely professionals.
Hope all my fabulous followers are ok today- stay golden x
