By now you all know I love a mixture of drugstore and highend brands and today I wanted to show you two holy grail products I have. I have a oily complexion which means I basically use a lot of powder products to keep my facebase in place. So instead of just showing you one product I wanted to show you my drugstore and highend options so the price range is more friendly.
So lets start off with the bargain, first off we have the Primark Beauty Loose Mineral Powder which is the bargain of £2.00. I use this powder to bake, set and highlight my makeup and these powders come in a massive shade range and I picked up porcelain which is basically my perfect colour. This powder does have a little colour to it as well so If I’m wearing something really light in coverage this powder is great at adding that little extra. Now i use this powder genuinely a lot recently since going through my makeup collection and reminding myself the products I actually have. For me personally these powders last a really long time and since its such a fine miled formula it doesn’t cake your makeup or feel heavy. This powder also leaves you with a matte finish.
Now lets chat the highend version, Fenty Beauty Pro Filtr Setting Powder, £24.00. This powder collection comes in 8 shades I believe to compliment various skin tones again because I’m very fair I wear the lightest shade which is Lavender. This powder has a lot of benefits to it which explains the price jump. First off its a natural finish powder that sets your makeup but doesn’t leave you completely matte its more of a satin finish. Second it has blurring and smoothing abilities to make your skin look ans feel more flawless. And lastly it is also a mineral powder so it performs beautifully on the skin. I use this mostly to brighten my under eyes when my makeup is a little dark and then set my face when I’m going for a normal look.
Now while I love both powders I have to admit more recently I’ve been using the Primark option much more then the fenty beauty one. I don’t have a particular reason why but i think mainly because the Fenty Beauty powder was more expensive I wanted to make it last longer. But when you look at them both together yes the Fenty powder has a few extra benefits but overall they both work amazingly and yet there’s a £22.00 difference. While I personally enjoy shopping both drugstore and luxury beauty its important to remind you all that you don’t need to break the bank in order to have good makeup and i think i needed this reminder too in all honesty. So don’t forget expensive doesn’t always mean better and cheaper makeup isn’t always bad!!
