So earlier today, I was walkin past the National Museum of African-American History and Culture to get to the bus, and a Black dude was standing at the corner selling his historical fiction alternate US history novel. I have some physical cash, so I think “fuck it, worst case he gets a burger or something and I get a shitty book” and I get it.

He signs it and everything, gives me a QR code for an electronic copy too, I put the physical copy in my bag and pull up the digital version, thinking I’ll read it during errands and on the way home.
