High top, high hat and jugglers beware There’s children a plenty all willing to stare Candy on offer And apples as well All tasty to those who have paid for a chair

The tamer of big cats, her whip and the stool A cage full of freaks and a little man’s fool The sounds of crowds cheering While laughter’s enjoyed The circus is here, for one and for all

Fine horses that prance on hind legs to a tune And dogs doing tricks on a promise and a boon Look up and look down There is so much to be seen For the circus had come and none too soon

A trumpet, a drum and a monkey who sings All put into place by three very big rings Join in for the evening Bring family and friends It’s the show of all shows: you’ll hope will not end

Sawdust and hard benches, all dusted with sand Topped off with a fancy twenty piece band Line up for a ticket Else, you’ll miss a great show It’s a one in a million and I’m in the front row
