Reunion
She knew this town.
Twice had she walked these streets, striving for an all powerful wish granting vessel that would allow her to make up for the mistakes of her past. The first time had only brought her pain, but the second - the second had taught her the truth of her struggle, the value in her work for all those years.
She had not been wrong.
She not longer needed the Grail, for she had no wish for it to grant. Save, perhaps one small one, one that somehow she would now be able to fulfill even though she had formed no contract to pay for it.
Saber approach the familiar looking door and knocked. She smiled at the young man who answered it.
“Hello, Shirou. May I come in?”

The ad in the paper had caught Rin’s eye the first day it had shown up. She had tried to ignore it, but as the temperature continued to rise, she found herself drawn to the bright letters promising a cool way to spend the day.
Of course, it wouldn’t be any fun to go by herself.
“Saber? Did you hear about the new pool in Shinto?”

Safely hidden behind their cover, Rin felt a smile quirk at her lips despite the seriousness of the situation. The Saber she knew so well probably would not have made a similar comment. She was serious in every situation, even if she might have thought the same.
So similar, and yet so different….
Rin pushed the errant thought away, focusing on the task at hand.
"The problem is, if the area is warded, it’s likely where your Master is. We need to see if we can find her before setting anything on fire. If you can get me there, I’ll do my best to disable the wards."
{♔} “Do you really think my Praetor is there?” she stopped to think about it for a moment, and realized that there could be no other place they would hold her. Just the thought She’d never admit this out loud but she was happy Rin proved to be more sensible. Though she had every intention of burning this horrid place after their escape. Fire to cleanse the land of this filth. She nodded to Rin’s instruction. “I will cut you a path, and stand guard while you work. Pray for my Praetor’s wellbeing. The very thought of her in such a horrid place irks my fury. Keep pace Rin.” With that said, Saber leapt form their hiding spot and started her assault.
Rin was also hoping for the young girl's safety. The feel of this place was terrible. It reminded her far too much of the tainted Grail that had enveloped Shinji. She could remember the feeling of wading through that mess, the terrible effect it had on her, even with the protections she had taken. "I agree. Once she is free, we should destroy this place."
Keep pace?! Had Saber forgotten how fast Servants were? Rin quickly reinforced her legs and ran after her, trying her best to keep up. This red clad Servant was easily as skilled as Saber she had known and made quick work of their enemies. Rin barely managed to keep pace in her wake, focusing on staying out of the fight. She would need to conserve her energy for taking down the wards.
"Hmm. Based on my calculations, the distortion in Fuyuki is going to increase once fall comes. I suspect we'll be seeing even echoes running around from other timelines. Which means..."
"Kiritsugu, how do you feel about having a dozen Shirou's running around?"
“Arf!” Thankfully the abilities Gawain had as a Knight weren’t impaired by the tinier and fluffier body that he was in, it took only a little bit of movement for him to jump back from the person. The sound of two feet landing squarely on the dank floor indicated that the person who fell in was no ordinary person. The aura of the other was too familiar too pass off as a normal human being, could it actually be—?
“Arf! Arf!” Happy yelps of recognition erupted from the pup right after the other spoke. It was his King and uncle!
It didn’t take even a second for him to bound towards his King at lightning fast speeds. However he stopped short from actually jumping on the other out of respect. He sat down and looked upward towards his king. Now that he was close enough to have a good look at the other, there was something off about his King’s outfit. It’s not as if he could voice it now, but he will be sure to ask him about it later.
Now he was just waiting for another command to follow.
Saber reached for the creature and carefully picked him up. Ah, she had discovered a dog. She carefully secured him in her arms, then bent, bracing her legs. She launched herself upward, quickly escaping the hole that had briefly trapped them both. She released the animal, looking him over for injuries.
He seemed unharmed. Saber's eyes lingered on his golden coat, momentarily distracted by the bright color. She carefully looked for a collar, surprised when she did not find one. The dog appeared to be very healthy, clearly well cared for. It was hard to believe he was a stray.
"Where is your master?" Saber asked, looking at the dog. While it might appear insanity to ask such a question, she was aware that he might be something more than an ordinary animal. While her own understanding of magecraft was hardly vast, she knew that some familiars could be granted enhanced intelligence.
