This Carolina Pulled Pork recipe uses apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, paprika, and a little bit of smoke to make pulled pork that is tender and full of flavor. Any day of the week, it's a great way to warm up.
Ingredients: 4-5 lbs pork shoulder, trimmed of excess fat. 1 cup apple cider vinegar. 1/2 cup ketchup. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 2 tablespoons mustard. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce. 2 teaspoons paprika. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. 1 teaspoon onion powder. 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Salt and pepper to taste. Hamburger buns, for serving.
Instructions: It's easy to make this sauce: put ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Put the pork shoulder in the crock pot. Make sure the pork shoulder is evenly covered as you pour the vinegar mixture over it. Put the lid on top and set the heat to low. Cook for 8 to 10 hours, or until the pork is soft and falls apart easily. Take the pork out of the slow cooker when it's done and shred it with two forks. Put the pork shreds back in the slow cooker and mix them with the cooking juices. Put the pulled pork on burger buns and eat!
