Ready Thy Self - CarpBall

Originating from the Eastern Kingdoms, Marmot(Carp) Ball is a brutal sport played by two teams of at least three players where the objective is to punt a large fish between two posts. In times of peace, the sheer violence witnessed in a game of Marmot(Carp) Ball has served a as a fitting substitute for war. The Tournament of Ages has reluctantly approved the inclusion of Marmot(Carp) Ball despite protests from DEHTA.

Rules: Teams must be on Moon Guard

Carpball (Marmot ball) is held in an arena or field, with two goals at each side of the field. 

The goals are to be set up in a manner that does not give advantage to one team or the other.

Movement effects are allowed ONLY in the defensive zone. If a movement increasing effect is used in the OFFENSIVE zone, the whistle will be blown, and the opposing team will get a free kick from the current ball location.

ABSOLUTELY NO INSTANT TELEPORT ABILITIES SUCH AS TRANSCENDENCE FOR A MONK 

There are no offsides in Carpball.

Carpball games require six players for each team (For the Tournament of Ages, the minimum number has been reduced to 4 per team)

One goaltender

Two defensemen

Three forwards

Scoring

To score points, the ball (Whitewater Carp) must be kicked between the opposing team’s goal. One point is awarded for each goal.

Going THROUGH the post will not count.

Time

Four quarters for one game

At the end of each quarter, teams will switch sides of the field, to maintain fairness.

Each quarter is 5 minutes long (One carp time on the ground. However some judges may elect to extend a quarter, if there are a large number of balls going out of bounds, or goals scored on both sides.)

At the end of regulation, if there is a tie, there will be sudden death overtime until one team scores
