Yesterday Mandana & I spent a lot of time outside running around, playing & training. She also wanted to do the treadmill four separate times. I think it’s great she’s building up her enthusiasm for exercise. I finally stopped her long enough to get a video this morning. It’s a struggle bc I can barely get her jacket off before she’s pulling me over to the treadmill.

Before I get the digging treadmill built, this is our morning routine. I sit on the closed toilet to brush my teeth with one foot on the edge of this mat and he digs.

@elvenferretots this is why I figured a digmill would be perfect for him. :P

My home town used to be home to one of the world’s largest carpet production mills, the centre of the famous Crossley Carpets group (later to include Kosset and Axminster plus others). In the 1980s through to the present day the Victorian mill complex has been turned into a thriving complex of offices, restaurants, bars, art studios and galleries. Over the last ten years two guys have been building a replica of the mill complex out of lego - seen here. The scale and attention to detail is amazing.

Mandana likes to watch me from her carpet mill while I do my physical therapy. She doesn’t have to go any faster than she wants to and generally prefers a steady walk.

We use a Howling Dog Alaska harness as our dedicated pulling gear so we don’t mess up our loose leash walks. I like how durable they are and how they are designed for freedom of movement.

One of these days I'm gonna get some barbed wire tattoos across my biceps so I can be as cool as the maintenance men at my job 👌

Got the carpet mill!

I think it’s going to be a hit. I was having Captain do a simple ‘touch’ with it to start with a ton of treat and praise. Then he offered his front paws up onto it, which I loved and praised more, so i let him hop up and hooked him on so he could feel it. He was clearly nervous but super excited about all the treats and praise. I had him hop off, then he hopped back on by himself and it moved. He was a bit worried but looked to me for treats, so he got a ton, and then wanted more. He kept offering a few steps for some love and treats. I never asked him for a thing. I had to tell him ‘off’ after a solid minute (or just over) and give him something else to do, so as to not ruin his excitement/hurt him.  I think this is going to go well.
