Sunday Kind of Love—A Carrison Fanfiction
I’m back after a long hiatus with some new fic for ya!
Written for day one of Carrison Week put on by the lovely peeps at @carrisonfiesta. The prompt is “beginning of relationship.”
Thanks to my space twin @hewouldve for the beta! I love you passionately.
This fic takes place in my plausible verse, where Harrison and Carrie slowly come together after he separates from Melissa. It’s set in summer 2002, and the younger kids are preteens (Malcolm is 14, Georgia is 11, and Billie is 9).
The title comes from the song “A Sunday Kind of Love.” My favourite version is by The Four Seasons—you can listen to it here.
With all that said, on with the show!
Sun-Drenched Haze - Carrison Week Day 1
Prompt 1: Beginning of Relationship
This is au, Carrie is fifteen and Harrison is eighteen and they met during the summer. This is about their last day together. I hope y’all enjoy and participate in the carrison week!!!
***
I know people who take sand from the beaches they visit. It’s some sort of memento, a way to remember that summer by. I’m not of those people, though. I don’t usually like to think back to the past, too much risk of remembering something that’s better off forgotten. Today, though, deserves some sand-keeping.
“Harrison,” he looks down to his lap, where Carrie’s head rests soundlessly. “Please don’t forget me,” she starts, her fifteen-year-old voice begs. “And all the things we did.” His head lowers further, until he’s hunched over her and their lips meet. The kiss is quick and sweet.
He lays her head gently on the sand while he gets up. He removes his shirt, only dressed in his swim trunks. She looks up at his through the six pm sunlight and smiles.
“Baby,” he laughs. He then scoops her over his shoulder and runs to the water’s edge. She holds on to his body, inhaling his scent: sunscreen, the ocean, and something extra that’s just him.
“Damn,” he winces. “The water’s so damn cold.” They both laugh as he drops her on the waves and washed up blue washes over them. They lay back, fingers intertwined, and this is the feeling she never wants to let go of. Letting the current carry them to the beginning, to the salt-drenched days of summer promises.
But the time is like the ocean, you can only hold so much in your hands. So they swim to the coast before they’re broken, before their bones become black coral on the sand.
Though it’s hours away, Carrie leans in and offers him a midnight kiss, the best kind. It’s carefree, it’s exciting, it’s a secret, a story for them and this summer to reminisce. His lips taste of salt and endings and his eyes sparkle the blue of the waves and her tears.
“I’ll remember this summer as the right one,” she promises, whispering in his sunburnt ear. His head sinks deeper into the crook of her neck, into her sunset hair.
“Hey, look at me.” He does. She wraps her legs around his torso and takes his face in her hands. “You, me and the sea, right?” she asks. The Three Musketeers.
“Forever.” He answers, their innocent lips locking as if it were the last time: urgent and demanding at first, but oh-so-sweet in the end. “I know this only makes it harder,” he says, twisting a lock of her hair. “But I love you.”
She has to kiss him again to prevent the tears from escaping her eyes. “I love you too.”
This is one of those days, the days when the sunlight paints them gold.
They walk hand in hand up the dunes, saying their goodbyes at the edge of the beach, where the street begins. The last hug lasts forever, her lips glued to his tan neck. “I guess this is it, huh kid?” he says.
“Yeah.” She mumbles, trying her best not to cry.
“I’ll miss ya.” He tightens his grip on her, his arms around her bare waist, his shirt soaking because of her wet bathing suit.
“Bye.” She whispers as he walks away. They’d decided to say goodbye in the afternoon before she left, so they’d do it where they first met. It seemed fitting.
As she walks back to her house, she relishes in her white summer. The kind that is full of sand and linen, the sea and soft sunshine, raspberries and lake water, a sun-drenched haze and sand on her jeans’ pocket. Her first white summer.
“Carrie!” she hears behind her, just the minute before she enters her car the next morning and never comes back.
“Harrison,” she could cry right then.
He runs towards his summer love in his worn-out flip flops and they hug. After a few moments, they kiss. They kiss all the kisses they can muster, the quick peck, the lingering kiss, the hungry, lip-biting, the loving kiss.
“Tell me this isn’t the end.” She begs.
“It isn’t the end.” He promises. “It’s only the beginning.”

Hooked on a Feeling—A Carrison Fanfiction
Two fics in one day?!
Written for day four of Carrison Week put on by my homies at @carrisonfiesta . The prompt for this fic was “Comic Con/Interview.”
Thanks to my space twin @hewouldve for coming through with the last-minute beta! I love you so much
This story takes place in my plausible verse, where Carrie and Harrison slowly come together after Harrison separates from Melissa. It’s set in August 2016 at a con in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (which just so happens to be my city 😉). As far as I know, Carrie has never been to a con in Ottawa, making this more AU than usual.
The title comes from Blue Swede’s “Hooked on a Feeling.” You can listen to the song here.
With all that said, on with the show!
A Road That Was Thorned and Narrow—A Carrison Fanfiction

This fic takes place in my plausible verse, where Harrison and Carrie slowly come together after he separates from Melissa. It’s set on June 15, 2011—and the date is important for a reason 😉
The title (and the italicized song lyrics in the fic) come from Neil Diamond’s “Play Me.” You can listen to the song here.
