Yes, I successfully summoned the anon! I'm working on something now that I think fits that criteria. I'll post it on here and on ao3 once it's finished!
Y'all it's been 3 YEARS since I posted this fic. Here's chapter 2.
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
It's not much but it's something. I hope more than just the anon who asked for it reads it. Oh well.
I may or may not bring this blog back from the dead to indulge my latest obsession, The Magnus Archives.
(P.S. Carson is alive and well)
Drugs are fun when you're a psychic
Tyler wasn't so sure he wanted to do this. He had agreed to be the test subject of an experimental drug that magic gangs seemed to be using. Morris, Riley, and Carson agreed to be there to monitor what happened and to keep him from destroying anything. Carson had been drugged with this and it had some serious effects. Carson recommended since Tyler's powers aren't really in control they lower the dosage significantly.
"Fine I'll do it," Tyler said pacing back and forth in Morris' office "I don't want to be held responsible for anything that gets destroyed"
"Tyler should be secluded from populated areas." Carson added.
"Is it that bad?" Riley asked with worry in her voice "Are you sure we should do this Morris?"
"It's up to the kid." Morris said getting up from his desk.
Tyler thought about it for a minute. Carson had warned him about potential side effects it might cause, For Carson it enhanced his magic senses it was overwhelming and terrifying, like magical LSD. It had almost got Riley fired for putting a few drops into his coffee because she didn't know if Carson would try it or not. Tyler agreed and they made preparations to go upstate. They rented a cabin in a secluded spot in the woods where Tyler wouldn't hurt anyone by accident. Carson was there to handle potential danger that might happen to Riley Morris or Daniel. Morris and Riley were there to give any kind of legal explanation if needed. Daniel was there mainly because he was always with Carson.
The day after they arrived and settled in they got testing. They found a partial clearing to set Tyler in and Turn him into their guinea pig. Everyone stayed at least ten yards away from him. While Tyler did have a lot of power he had very little control of it because he had only had them for three years at that point and Carson had a lot more experience. Carson had given Tyler a bracelet with wooden beads, they had magical symbols carved into it.
"What's this? Tyler asked, holding the bracelet in his hand.
"It's for blocking magic, you're going to need it." Carson said that slipping on a bracelet for himself and walking towards Morris Daniel and Riley.
He took the drug diluted in water to lessen its effects. He stood in the center of the clearing and waited. Then it happened it was just a little tingle at first but then his head flooded with hundreds of thoughts from people all around New york city. The happy ones that would make anybody feel good, the sad ones of people who were depressed and negative emotions that came with. It felt like he could sense every spirit or demon in New York all of it rushing in at once. Flashing images went by quickly as well as the emotions that came with them. It was all overflowing in his head making his body feel hot and cold at the same time It felt like his head was going to explode as unbearable pain filled his head feeling like it was going to split in two as it came in waves getting stronger and more painful for seemingly hours and then it all went black having the feeling of drowning in a thick muck.
--
Carson, Morris, Riley and Daniel stood there and watched Tyler take the drug. Carson had put on a bracelet that blocked magic or things like that so he can't be overwhelmed by magic overflow. Tyler paced in circles until he stopped suddenly grabbing their attention. He dropped to the ground and let out the most blood curdling scream they had ever heard from him. Morris was about to go towards him when Carson held up his arm blocking Morris from going any further. Tyler grabbed at his head and started kicking his legs still screaming. His back arched upwards as he dug his heels into the dirt making small pits in the ground . Rocks and trees started crackling as Tylers power became more uncontrollable. The bracelet suddenly shattered not from The overflow of power but because Tyler had broken it. His nose began to bleed and that's when they really started to worry. Carson acted quickly, he started concentrating as much as he could; it took a second he managed to put up an unstable magical shield to protect himself and the others from Tyler.
Tyler flopped over on his side and to continue to kick his legs and scream when it suddenly cut off. Tyler had lost cautiousness Carson kept the shield up for a few more seconds before letting it up. He Dropped to his knees and panted like he just ran a marathon. Making those shields at all and taking a lot of energy so he was exhausted. Daniel went to assist Carson and make sure he was okay while Riley and Morris walked towards Tyler ,being very cautious just in case his powers were still in overdrive.
Tyler looked like he had been hit by a train, dirt coated his dark brown hair, the back of his grey jacket and bits of his face which was dripping in sweat and covered in blood from his nosebleed. There were scratches by his ears and hairline from Tyler digging his nails into his head as he had his hands grabbed on it which were now limply laid out in front of him. He also managed to knock his glasses off his face during the comotion. Riley went to check his pulse, it was incredibly fast but seemed to be slowing. He was out of breath and they needed to be cautious and listen for wheezing, which luckily wasn't happening at that point. They decided to take him back to the cabin and let him rest for the day.
--
"I think he has a fever," somebody said while wiping Tyler's forehead of sweat with a rag.We shouldn't have let him do this Morris,"
"Let him? You're the ones who asked him to do it.” somebody else said from seemingly another room from where Tyler was.
Tyler felt like complete and utter crap the more he woke up the more he felt the pain of a throbbing migraine spreading through his head. Everyone's voices seemed amplified and uncomfortably loud. Every bit of him felt like lead and the grogginess from the mild fever wasn't helping. The cool rag that was placed on his forehead made things better. Tyler pinched his eyes and furrowed his brows, jerking his head away from whoever was touching him moving his head was something he instantly regretted. That movement made him very nauseous.
"Thank god you're awake." Riley said picking up the rag that was knocked off his forehead and placing it back.
Tyler opened his eyes only to shut them quickly. The light bothered him alot and now he felt the full force of this migraine he grabbed at his head and turned over pushing his face into pillows that were on his bed in the cabin. He curled up and groaned as the pain got worse pulling the blanket he was under closer to his face.
"Turn down the lights." Carson said walking into the bedroom. "You owe me another bracelet." He said leaning in the doorway. “The one you had broke.”
Tyler groaned as Riley went to turn off the light. Tyler unstiffened as he didn't realize he was tense up in the first place. His head felt a little better now that the light was off. Riley started to question him about the side effects and what had happened to him. Tyler had drifted off in the middle of it, his senses were still all over the place. Carson’s presence was a little overwhelming. He had a lot of magic and it had a dark cold feeling coming from it. He spent the next few hours drifting in and out waiting for the side effects to wear off.
