Can i request hordak finding out s/o was critically injured from a mission and him taking care of s/o when they come back
(Having this happen before Entrapta came into the picture.) (Also ficlet + headcanons cuz yes)
His heart leapt into his throat at the news, chest tightening. Releasing a ragged breath, Lord Hordak leaned forward against his table, blue hair dissheveled.
“Leave me,” he hissed to the Force Captain standing beside him. “LEAVE ME!”
As the Force Captain fled, Hordak yelled, clearing his table in one clean swipe. He bared his red teeth as rage seeped into his bones. He never should have allowed you to go on such a dangerous mission with the princesses running rampant. Despite the danger, you insisted.
His fury mixed with his abundant self-loathing. You were safer at his side than any battlefield in Etheria. He needed you at his side.
And now you needed him at yours.
🖤 Hordak moves you from the medical bay to his own personal quarters. It’s a slow, long recovery process, and he wants you as comfortable as possible.
🖤 For the first stage of recovery, most of your time is spent in bed, with small increments of walking or stretching to stay somewhat in shape. Those few walking experiences require clinging to Hordak’s side.
🖤 Since you’re on bedrest, Hordak makes sure all your meals are sent to his chambers. It’s the only thing you enjoy about bedrest, considering the mess hall could get chaotic.
🖤 There’s a more...protective aura from Hordak now—a reluctance when you mention potential plans to combat losses, especially when they include you.
🖤 If not for your stubborn nature and value as a soldier, Hordak would keep you at his side forever. It’s something he secretly enjoys about your recovery, though he hates seeing how you grimace when walking and the pain in your eyes. You love to fight, and he respects your passions. But couldn’t you have been passionate about something else, like art or science?
🖤 He has to help you with bathing. He’s surprisingly patient and gentle with it, too.
🖤 Shoos away any potential stressors. Other Force Captain wants to discuss matters with you? Hiss. Visitors? Hiss. Princess news? HISS. He literally tells you NOTHING about how the war is going while you’re recovering.
🖤 When you fully recover, he still holds off on deploying you anywhere—just to be sure. After you persist for days he has no other choice just to let you get some energy out.
🖤 You come back smiling and giddy at your victory, and it makes Hordak warm with pride as he heard your accomplishments—accomplishments that helped the Horde. It reminds him of why you became Force Captain in the first place.
