give me hope (before i crack beyond repair)

Her hands are shaking.

And like, she can't remember the last time her hands actually shook? Especially as hard as they do now? 

"He's going to be alright, Cassandra," Eve tries to calm her down, the Guardian's hands gentle on Cassandra's shoulders and through her hair. "It's Ezekiel. He's always gonna pull through, even when it seems impossible."

It seems impossible right now, Cassandra thinks, though the words don't leave her tongue. It's- "He's an idiot." She shudders, and her eyes burn with unshed tears. "He shouldn't have- I was fine, I was handling it, why did he-"

Eve pulls her closer, until Cassandra is able to hide her grief into her shoulder. "I think Ezekiel has always been a bit… protective of you, even if he doesn't like showing it. You're definitely the one he's closest to. So, I'm not really surprised he'd try to save you if he thought the situation warranted it." 

And okay, maybe Cassandra had been in a bit of a pickle, outnumbered and overwhelmed and almost at her limits. Yes, alright. 

But that didn't mean Ezekiel had to basically make what was tantamount to a sacrifice play just to get her to safety. That didn't mean- "What am I going to do," she whispers her worst fear into the crook of Eve's neck and shoulder, "if he doesn't pull through?" The devastation and guilt would kill her, probably. 

Eve squeezes her tightly; tight enough to ache, and tight enough to ground Cassandra, if only just a little. "Don't think like that," she says, both a command and a plea. "He's going to be okay, Cassandra."

"But what if-"

"No. No what ifs. He will be fine." Eve grabs her shoulders and pushes Cassandra just far enough away to meet her gaze. Her eyes are about as red as Cassandra's own feel. But she smiles, small though it is. "And when he wakes up - because it will be a when, not an if - he'll laugh his silly head off at you for thinking otherwise. You know he will."

It's more confidence, more hope, than Cassandra is capable of feeling right now, but even so, she can't help grinning through her tears at the image the Colonel's words paint in her head. "You're right." She breathes. Inhale, hold. Exhale, hold. "You're right. Ezekiel's… He's going to be fine. He will. He’ll be running around and giving us headaches in no time."

And if it takes a while to believe her own words… Well, Cassandra thinks that's only for her to know.

Another Rant

Ranting time again? Absolutely! 

* clears throat*

Hello friends reading this. I have recently come across another problem on the internet which needs addressing.

Just because you have a gay ship does not mean “you want everything to be gay”. Speaking as a member of the LGBTQ+ community ( I’m A-sexual and A-romantic for those wondering) not everything has to be gay, and we don’t want it that way, however we would like more representation and, if you have a gay ship, you see oppurtunity in that ship.

Just because you have a straight ship does not mean you’re homophobic. I understand that many straight ships already exist but people who ship a straight ship would ship said ship even if one of the genders in that ship changed, because a ship doesn’t depend on the genders of the people in that ship, it’s the audiences view on the people in the ships personalities and how they would interact.

In conclusion, straight ships don’t make you homophobic and gay ships don’t mean you want everyone to be gay. Thank you and have a good rest of your lives.

I'm watching the Librarians and the Rule of Three! It's the science fair and Morganna episode!!

It's one of my favorite Cassandra episodes, and Jenkins gets some classic lines too.

Something I realized this time was Cassandra going "Goths and Geeks should be friends"

and we found out she had a Goth phase in her youth and I just love. I wonder if she ever tried to go between the two when she was younger and got hurt.

REVISED SHIPATHON 2018 SCHEDULE:

Hey LITs! It’s that time of the year again! Since 2018 is our third year, this time I ran a survey for a few months about everyone’s ships, to help make sure the Shipathon calendar is as unbiased and true to the fandom’s current shipping preferences as possible! 

The first time I posted this schedule, I got a lot of new feedback, so I took it down and revised it with the help of @imagination-parade (who also helps me out a lot with this blog and should get a shout out!)

NOTE: Due to the large number of characters and new ships, to be as inclusive as possible I suggested an extra week to celebrate just the rarepairs - and everyone who replied to the survey loved the idea! And remember that in the middle of the Shipathon, there are now TWO WHOLE WEEKS set aside for one-episode love interests!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the rules of The Librarians Shipathon, it go as follows:

- The Librarians Shipathon is a fandom-wide celebration of the show, the characters, and especially the relationships between them! This year it will last from JUNE 24TH-SEPTEMBER 30TH.

- Each week has a relationship assigned to it, and you post things for that ship at any time during that week. DON”T BE INTIMIDATED BY THE LENGTH OF THE CALENDAR! You don’t have to do every week! (But pretty please, for the love of the gods, try to do more than one? As a personal favor to me, @jedijenkins?)

- You can make any kind of content you wish for that relationship, as long as it’s celebrating relationships and not bashing them! You can celebrate them platonically or romantically or otherwise!
