When Sam gets his life together and fucks off to live in a hippy-dippy self-sustainable commune in Costa Rica, Dean never considers following suit. That life isn’t for him. But after years of being away from his brother and withering his own life away at his monotonous, soul-sucking job, Dean finds himself caving to Sammy’s pleas, accepting a job offer he can’t refuse, and boarding a plane to the exotic island.
It’s nothing like Dean could have ever imagined, full of vibrant life and color, foods he’s never heard of, and animals he’s never seen. It’s a tropical paradise… a paradise that becomes a hell of a lot more interesting when a dark haired, blue-eyed commune native catches his eye. After a rather upsetting first meeting with the grumpy stranger, Dean must continue to navigate life on the island, his new career as the school’s music teacher, and the ultimate feat of dislodging his foot from his very big mouth.
With a community of characters as familiar as his brother and as wild as a capuchin monkey with a flair for mischief, Dean will discover that maybe it wasn’t just Sam’s life that needed a reboot.
Still, the question remains; will Dean be able to win over Casa Nova’s most reclusive resident?
Here’s my art for @casloveshisfreckles‘ Pinefest 2019 fic A Lifetime of After!!! The moment I saw there was a Destiel/Queer Eye crossover fic in the list of fics, I POUNCED. Like. Didn’t even matter what kind of fic it was. I wanted it. And the best thing is that the fic turned out to be soft and sweet and well-written and beautiful, everything I needed and secretly hoped it would be. Every single member of the Fab 5 is impeccably in character, and every aspect of Dean and Cas’ characters and interactions in this fic are straight-up adorable. ♥

Who are they? Who is she? She’s perfection. Perfection who writes gorgeous fics and runs an amazing supernatural blog.
Why follow forever? If you like Destiel, Cockles, and SPN she is your absolute go-to. Not only for her blog but also for her writing! Check out her works here. And as I'm sure you can tell, I'm a sucker for good tags, and she's got 'em! It's a joy to follow her and a privilege to call her a friend!
Fun Fact! She's such a good author I was inspired to create a little gifset inspired by a quote from one of her works. Read the fic here!
The men of Queer Eye have spent two seasons helping people find their confidence, their best selves, and most importantly, their truths.
They’re very good at what they do.
Meet the Fab Five’s newest hero: Castiel Novak, game and toy maker, nominated by Dean Winchester, his best friend and roommate. Dean’s plea is simple, help Castiel prepare for the opportunity of a lifetime, a chance at his dream job.
An easy assignment, a cake walk even, until the Fab Five find out things even Dean doesn’t know.

“Allow me to introduce you to Castiel Novak, thirty-six, a toy and game inventor from Lawrence, Kansas. He’s been nominated by his best friend of fourteen years and roommate, Dean Winchester.”
Antoni presses play.
A man in a tan trench coat sits on a stool against a grey-blue backdrop, his head down as he fusses with the striped blue tie he’s wearing. The tie has somehow flipped and he’s trying to turn it around. A throat clears offscreen and the man looks up and into the camera.
Every member of the Fab Five gasp, the only exception being Karamo since he can’t take his eyes off the road.
“What?!”
“His eyes,” Tan hisses.
Castiel Novak is a handsome man. Sapphire blue eyes stare imploringly into the camera and Castiel tilts his head, a light flush painting his cheeks as he looks towards the throat clearer. A thick beard covers the bottom half of his face but even with it, his chiseled jaw is easy to see.
“Yes, sorry—hello, my name is Castiel James Novak, I am thirty-six, and am recently unemployed.” Castiel’s stoic as he addresses the camera.
“Dude, this isn’t an application for a dating site,” a voice off camera teases him. “Let me show you how it’s done.”
Karamo huffs out a laugh as he listens in and the rest of them watch as the video goes dark and opens again to another very good looking man, a wide smile revealing perfectly straight teeth and deep dimples. He has laugh lines around kind emerald eyes and none of them can help but be charmed.
Karamo hums his appreciation when he pulls up to a red light and can properly see the video. “What the hell is in the water in Lawrence?” he murmurs.
“Hello, I’m Dean, I’m an Aquarius, I like long walks on the beach, pie, and Led Zeppelin. I’m also Cas’ best friend and nominator.” He gives the camera the cheekiest grin, one side of his mouth tipping up.
“Dean, you’ve never been to the beach.” They can hear Castiel offscreen now.
Dean rolls his eyes and the guys chuckle. “Dude, get out of here so I can talk to America about you.” He makes a shooing motion, his head tilting back as he presumably watches Castiel follow his orders. A door closes and Dean relaxes and turns his grin back to the camera.
“Where was I?” He sits up straighter and shakes out his shoulders, becoming more comfortable in front of the camera. “I tried to tell him not to lead with the unemployed thing but I guess that’s why I called you guys.” Dean raises his hand to point it at the camera. “We need your help.”
Dean Winchester isn't sure what to expect from the shy eight-year-old that moves in next door, but what he gets from Cas is a best friend for life. They face things no child should, finding the meaning of a safe home in each other’s arms.
Castiel Novak never anticipated saying goodbye to his best friend, but growing up forces them apart. The years without Dean are unkind and Castiel’s world is darker than ever. When their destinies tangle again, Cas wonders if Dean is the salvation he’s been seeking all along.

“That Novak kid, what a freak. I hate that he just hangs around and stares. Probably imagining us all naked or some shit.” Dean’s blood runs cold hearing Gordon Walker talk about Cas like this.
A few of the other guys laugh and it eggs Gordon on. “Fucking weirdo, right? Winchester should just give it up already, maybe he’ll go away.”
Dean slams his locker shut and steps to Gordon. Blood roars in his ears and he sees red. “The fuck you just say, Walker?”
“Uh oh, don’t like when I talk about your boyfriend?” Gordon laughs, expecting everyone else to laugh with him. The rest of the team quietly watches their interaction unfold.
“You don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. You need to shut your fuckin’ mouth.” Dean’s jaw hurts from how hard he’s clenching it. His hands are both fists at his side and he’s itching to drive one into Gordon’s face.
Gordon leans in and drops his voice. “You gonna make me, Winchester?”
It’s the only invitation Dean needs. His knuckle splits when he slams a fist into Gordon’s face but he doesn’t care. The sting makes Dean want to hit him harder. No one gets to talk about Cas like that. All of Dean’s rage, at his dad, at every damn thing coming from Gordon’s mouth, all of it that’s been building inside, he uses to pummel the kid beneath him. Gordon gets a few good hits in before their coach separates them, holding them both by their necks.
Dean ends up with a split lip and a two day suspension for his trouble.
Dean finally gets to the truck, and he refuses to tell Cas what the fight was about. If he knew Dean was fighting because of him, he’d feel responsible and would probably want to go after Gordon himself. Dean just wants to go home and tells him as much.
It's not until later, after he’s sat through the lecture from his mom and a phone call from his grandpa with a similar speech, it’s not until Cas wraps them in their blanket and holds an ice pack to his lip that Dean can finally relax.
“You’re still not going to tell me what you were fighting about?”
Dean shakes his head.
“Was it about me?” Cas’ voice is quiet, hardly above a whisper and Dean stills. He gives himself away.
“Damn it, Dean. You can’t fight every asshole in this town that doesn’t like me. I don’t give a shit what a troglodyte like Gordon Walker thinks of me. You shouldn’t either.”
Dean shakes his head and tucks himself under Cas’ chin. “I’m not gonna let anyone talk about you the way he did, Cas. I don’t care how many times I get suspended.” Cas is his best friend and it’s Dean’s job to take care of him. He’ll do whatever he needs to make sure Cas is okay, even if Cas doesn’t agree.
Cas sighs and presses his lips to Dean’s hair. He closes his eyes at Cas’ touch. “Stubborn bastard.”
Dean just nods in agreement.
Cas skips school so Dean doesn’t have to serve his suspension alone.
