Jake & Cassie
@cassieblcke
While Jake wasn’t sure of a lot of things, he was sure of Cassie’s connection to dark magic. After burning a few of his hunter friends ( if you could even call them that ) alive, it became abundantly clear that he needed to keep a closer eye on her. There was no telling what she was capable of. So long as her emotions were kept in check, she wouldn’t pose that much of a danger to herself or others.
Being around her was easier than being around the rest of the circle. Nick, Adam, and Faye were all convinced he was hiding something. And though, they were right to assume that -- Jake had to continue pretending otherwise. Cassie, felt the most inclined it seemed, to give him the benefit of the doubt. Which he could greatly appreciate. And hopefully warp to his advantage when the time came.
“I’d suggest taking a break,” Jake advised with a smile, as he pulled up a chair next to Cassie along the pier. No doubt was he intruding on what looked like -- an early morning breakfast. Needless to say, he sincerely hoped she didn’t mind. “What’chu you reading?” He gave a gentle nod to the book lying open infront of her. It was covered in symbols and text, all of which he assumed were related to witchcraft.
