everyone needs to get cool about a bunch of stuff real quick but oh my GOD. the du couteaus are some of my favorite parts of league lore in general and i don't think it's out of left field to presume a family as dysfunctional as theirs could brew the environment for other types of abuse besides the already very present emotional and physical violence. marcus and soreana groom kat and cass, respectively, into the roles they want them to fulfil, which comes at the cost of their children's safety, as well as their emotional well-being. the read of cassiopeia as a victim of emotional incest is not... wild? and i think imagining these two neglected sisters whose agency over their futures and selves is constantly threatened could find in each other a form (tho equally as harmful) of navigating that household is captivating. the disobedience and weakness soreana and marcus work to erradicate would show itself somewhere else, as it often does with familial trauma.

i LOVE casskat as a concept. they're league's book!jaimecersei and i think that dynamic works sooo well for them. i also think it really helps build talon's character too! there is an impact to being the sibling out of the incestuous relationship (as tyrion lannister would agree) and it makes their dynamic all the richer. do i think it's AT ALL riot's intent? absolutely not. do i care? lmao. if i trusted riot to do compelling storytelling for people over the age of 4 i would be disappointed quite often.
