why would you make friends online? didnt your parents teach you better than that?
Ok anon, let’s just think about this rationally, because really, I want to slaughter you Hunger Games style.
I made this blog about six months ago. This was around the time I was taking my exams for my GCSE’s. The funny thing was that my parents weren’t really helping with this. So I made my first online friend, Lucia. She motivated me to study, and eventually pass my Ancient History papers. So that’s one reason I have made friends online.
Another person I made friends with was Kyra. In the first few messages we sent, we realised how alike we were and it made me very happy as I counted her as a very close friend. Shock horror, anon, I became happy because I had online friends.
And then there was Meg, who was literally my Canadian alter-ego. And Charlotte who I really do love, so damn much. And Cat, who actually cares about what I like. And of course Matt, who I have told my mum all about, and she even pushed me to keep in contact with him. And do you know what?
My parents haven’t said a bad word against these people.
And to answer your question in full, I have made friends online because I had nowhere else to turn. You try to be in a class of people where all they see is the scars on your wrists and your messy hair and your ‘weird’ fandom merchandise. I find it hard to make friends in real life, and yet online I am me; I don’t have to fake it to be part of the friendship groups.
My parents haven’t taught me ‘any better’ because they have seen the improvements to my happiness and even my health, from having these friends.
For fucks sake, anon, I put out that massive post, spilling out my heart, and you get this from it?
If you think this is funny, you have another thing coming, you lonely piece of shit.
Kyra, Charlotte, Matt, Meg, Cat, Lucia, Airen and Freya I love you all.
