Castle Inn @ Bodiam Village Sussex by Adam Swaine Via Flickr: The Castle Inn in Bodiam village was formerly called The Red Lion and was renamed in 1885 when it was rebuilt. Its history is linked to the nearby 14th-century Bodiam Castle, with its origins likely dating to the 15th century when merchants visited the castle. The castle was built by Sir Edward Dallingridge in 1385 as a defense against French invasion during the Hundred Years' War.
