ZJ Fic Update Update 4/11

Hello I have not died! I have been rather bogged down in real life lately and getting some *cough* inspiration but the fics are in progress. Dial K for Kira Chapter 6 will post late tonight to early tomorrow, and I’ll post here when it’s up.

I wrapped up two fics recently, Castles of Sand and The Neologisms of Yagami Light, as well as added a new chapter to Checkmate last week. I posted a new Lawlight drabble on AO3 today in the ongoing Strange Fiction ficlet collection. Check em out if you haven’t already!

Next up after Dial K posts is an update to Her Dark Materials (co-written with the fabulous @weusedtotalktilmidnight), and then another chapter of Checkmate which will have the battle of wits with the Shinigami King (and smut lol).

“There’s something terribly poetic about you sitting on a beach with Kira at the end of the world, rubbing suntan oil on his chest, isn’t there, L?”

On Kira’s private island, he intends to change the world from a beach chair… soaking up rays and Mikami’s adoration while trying to convince L to join him with daiquiris, challenges, and sex hotter than the tropical sun.

The old stone wall holds back the wild, running down the beach like a playful child. It was not built by machines with beauty in mind but with stoic purpose and hands and time. Stone by weighty stone and now a home to the marine generations, tiny lives sheltered from nature’s knives. We walk on either side to follow its path, and perhaps find the one who held back god’s wrath. You won’t come to my side like before, your tide has left that shore, pulling back sand and crushed shell as souvenirs, to mix with oceanic tears. The pummeled homes of tiny lives cut by nature’s knives, need patience and pressure to make rocks once more. Throw them to shore for one such as I to find and pick up for luck.

Unfortunately after some consideration, I'm going to have to drop Mika Kagehira from Ensemble Stars since I'm having too much difficulty keeping threads for him. He was housed in Hummingbird Hotel. Thank you for having him!

Thank you for bringing him here with us! It’ll be sad to see him go, but we hope he had fun here regardless! Mika has been dropped, and thank you for playing him as you did <3
