Headcanon:  Alucard’s castle now sits on land that had belonged to the Belmonts since Leon built the estate 400 years before.  Several generations of Belmonts were born, lived, and possibly died in that house, and now their ghosts are bound to the house in order to watch over their descendants.  Alucard can’t see them, but his comings and goings and activities throughout the day have provided a source of interest for the lingering spirits.

Leon is the indisputable patriarch of the ghostly family and he was startled to recognize the son of his former friend.  So when Sypha and Trevor left and it became apparent Alucard was there to stay, Leon chose to leave him in peace, taking his presence as a sign to begin the long road of forgiving Mathias.

Several of the ancestors like to sit and read with Alucard in the library.

One or two members have tried to make contact with their dhampir guest/host, but so far have been unsuccessful.

Whenever Alucard talks to himself, his words are spread among the ghosts like chickens.  They get very excited when he speaks.

Trevor’s dead sisters take great joy in hiding various items from Alucard, ranging from cooking utensils to construction tools he needs to make repairs on the Castle and the Belmont Estate.  He still can’t find a specific tea set and is more than a little perplexed by that.

On the nights when Alucard can’t sleep and he stays up drinking wine in the kitchen, one of the ghosts always watches over him.

When the rider from Dănești was killed, the ghosts guided the horse to Alucard.  (Because wouldn’t it have just run back to Dănești?)  They also led the horse and Trevor home.

They are grateful to him and Sypha for fighting with/protecting their last descendant.

After what happened with Sumi and Taka, all of them were royally pissed and proceeded to chase the pair’s spirits into the afterlife.

Both times Alucard was weeping on the spot where his father died, Leon was sitting with him.

I just finished season 2 of Castlevania.

Alucard, who is 20, who lost his entire family, is now guarding the castle they haunt. Can you imagine the ammount of loneliness that consumes him?

An immortal imprisoning himself to a life of loneliness. That's how you lose your connection to the world. That's how you turn blood to venom.
