I'd love to see Felix get the Cat for a bit in the show if for no other reason than to see how they'd incorporate the pre-canon stuff: toe beans! Real cat ears and fangs! Matte black! The inhuman stealth and fluid grace and the way he moves around on all fours!
But at the same time. I don't think he could ever successfully be the Cat to Marinette's Ladybug. That's the whole yin and yang thing. She's supposed to be hard and active while he's soft and passive and Felix can't do that; they'd clash where they're supposed to ebb and flow.
They’d be an awful awful awful duo of superheroes, at least in the beginning! I think they would learn to begrudgingly tolerate each other overtime, possibly even admire each other’s intelligence, but that’s assuming they’d even get that far… They’d be the worst thing to ever happen to Hawkmoth/Lila, but also to Paris itself.
It’s a really fun concept to explore in fanfics though, especially in a setting where Felix is meant to be a permanent holder rather than temporarily fill in for Adrien. What circumstances would push Fu to choose him — would he even be chosen, or would it be a mistake because he looks so much like Adrien? Would he love playing the hero after being treated like a monster for so long, or would he reject the notion of heroism entirely? Would he get along with Plagg? How would he, as a boy who has a complicated relationship with masks and craves attention, handle the secret identity rule — especially when it comes to Kagami, especially when it comes to his mum? What about fighting Mayura/another Peacock holder — would he try to stop Ladybug from destroying Sentimonsters, or would he accept their sacrifice like he did Strikeback’s? What would be his endgame — would he try to snatch the Peacock, or skip that step entirely when he realises he could just betray Ladybug and get his hands on her earrings? What would stop him from simply cataclysming his uncle? How would this all affect his relationship with Adrien?
