Okay, I’ve happened to be busy doing nothing besides my long-furred brethren when the cat post met my scroll, so I’ve used him as a reference for cat familiar Idia
(Also I was thinking about possible matting before Idia’s arrival at the facility. This kind of breeds matte very easily because the fur is too long for grooming with tongue, this plus a neglectful owner means a walking bundle of knots. Good thing Idia’s fur is probably still fire-y and unknots itself and he himself is a smart familiar that can find alternative self-grooming methods if he feels like it )
OUUU HE'S SO PRECIOUS- he's definitely looking at the cat brush haha
When he arrived he was DEFINITELY matted. Yuu had to pull out the buzzer for some of them and at the beginning Idia ended up with a couple bald spots hahaha
Safe to say he does not like grooming time
Luckily he met kitten Ortho who he got attached to, and is usually with him when he needs emotional support
Here's a drawing of cat Idia giving kitten Ortho a little bath! (Ortho is a tripod cat) I tried to give ortho the cute pink tones of a kitten's tummy but I didn't capture it properly :(

You don’t know why you’re up at this hour, but something’s wrong.
Idias room was quieter than usual today. Okay well, his room was normally quiet. Aside from the occasional whoop in his room from getting a good card or his favorite character on one of those games of his.
It was completely radiosilent. He couldn’t be asleep, after all, he comes from a land where sleep is foreign. So he’s still awake, most likely.
Opening his door, (without knocking? Wow.) there was no sign of the hermit except his pc setup, room decor, and his tablet laying vulnerable on his bed.
It was weird.
Suddenly, a noise came from under his bed. It sounded a lot like a cat’s meow..
You leaned down to see a pair of yellow eyes staring at you. They looked frightened and confused, but they seemed to recognize you.
You needed to make this thing come out.. and figure out why it’s in Idias room out of all places.
Maybe step back a bit first? See how the cat reacts to you moving around while it can see you?

A minute has passed since you decided (well, suggested) a name for Idia. Or what you’re calling the cat for now. It seems to be pretty reactive to most things, which makes you wonder…
‘What if I start walking around? Will it react positively or negatively?’
You decided to test that thought and got up from where Idia was lying. He looked at you with almost surprised eyes before you started to walk around.
His eyes tracked you like a hawk’s, wary of what you were going to do.
His fur started to bristle slightly, as the sensation of you moving must’ve caught him off guard. Thankfully he didn’t dart under the bed, but he looks real close to doing so.
Idia didn’t seem to have a major reaction to you moving around aside from feeling you walk around. Although, you stopped once the vibration of you walking made a faint hiss slip out of his mouth.
Test successful, I guess?
