I think if Malleus and Idia were cats, Malleus would be a serval and Idia would be a ragdoll cat.
Haha you made me think of how I'd image these two as cats. Unfortunately I don't know cat breeds.
Both of them are rescues! Uhhh insert AU where Yuu owns a cat familiar rescue facility. (As in all the cats that are rescued were previously familiars for mages)
Malleus was owned by a rich old woman who unfortunately died and now is under Yuu's care. He's a very sophisticated cat, but he also wasn't socialised with other cats, so he doesn't know how to "cat" properly. He doesn't get cues....he often gets into fights because of it. As a result he usually spends his time alone on the highest cat tower pondering the universe. He did manage to make some cat friends tho! (Lilia, Silver and Sebek).
Idia was an actual rescue, as in his previous owners were very neglectful. As a result he's very thin under all that fuzz and he's terribly anxious. He doesn't like being pet or being around the other cats. When Yuu has to care for his fur and claws he kinda just sits at the farthest corner of the cat table with the most sopping wet expression a cat can make until it's done. He does NOT like the vet (and unfortunately he needs it often because he's in recovery). He got really attached to another rescue kitten who needed to get one of it's legs amputated (Ortho) because it reminded him of his brother from his original litter who didn't make it (because of the owner's neglect)
Please appreciate the skull fur pattern on Idia's face. And Malleus' fur scales 🥺❤
