How are you feeling about the jerma soft-retirement? Personally, I am distraught (like…genuinely)

[context for those that don't know: jerma's said that as of 2024 he's going to slow down/shift focus away from streaming and having an online presence, something he's dubbed "soft retirement". he'll still be around for another year or two, just less and less.] i think... well i was kind of already expecting it, he'd been talking consistently about retirement for a little while now so it wasn't a total shock, still kinda sucked to hear it so realised so soon though. jerma's streams have been a consistent positive force in my life for over two years now, and to know now that it'll come to an end relatively soon (1-2 years isn't exactly soon but yknow, in the grand scheme of things..) is pretty saddening. the days of jerma streams as we know them are numbered...

it's important to remember though, this is what he wants and he's said he's happy. all good things must come to an end, I'm just grateful he gave us some warning instead of just up and leaving (plus he's already been around a looong time). it also sounds like this new philosophy towards streaming (more for fun than as a Job) is a lot healthier as well, more in line with how he started on youtube. I'm interested to see what new youtube stuff he's said he wants to make is!

it's also got me thinking about my involvement in the community over the years and how grateful i am for all the cool people i've met through it!! once this all does end, i know i'll look back on it fondly.
