Two catbirds on the suet. Romance is in the air!

"Slender-billed, glossy black bird of humid forest, woodland, thickets, and overgrown clearings; shape and habits like Gray Catbird of North America. Common on Cozumel Island, but generally uncommon to rare on the Yucatan mainland. Often sings from a prominent perch, but otherwise rather retiring and easily overlooked, mainly at low levels in bushes; also hops on the ground, flipping and fanning its tail."

Rotating q!Jaiden and q!Cellbit in my mind all the time. Thinking about Jaiden mirroring Cellbit's story but putting a different spin on it, being more sincere about it. Thinking about Jaiden saying she's not sure the path she's taking is the right one but she's willing to take that risk, and Cellbit immediately saying he gets it without even knowing what she's referring to. Because he does. Thinking about Cellbit reaffirming again and again that Jaiden has his trust no matter what when so many people were ready to turn away from her. Thinking about Jaiden showing Cellbit the Bobby fields, granting him forgiveness and trusting him above almost everyone else on the island even after everything he did.
Thinking about how both of them would do anything for their loved ones and they know it. Thinking about how loud Cellbit is about the love and respect he has for the people in his life. He loves people so loudly and unabashedly, while Jaiden loves people so quietly and fiercely. Thinking about Cellbit always uplifting Jaiden and telling her how needed and appreciated she is, and that being exactly what she needs because she can't quite bring herself to believe it. Jaiden constantly feeling like she's intruding, like she's a stranger, like she's inferior, and Cellbit constantly telling her how smart she is, how much everyone loves and misses her.
Thinking about how strongly both of them love Roier and about the familiarity that comes with knowing someone really well and seeing their reflection in those close to them.
Thinking about how differently they view Cucurucho, and how much their ways of approaching the island's mysteries vary, which means they bring to the table theories and thoughts the other person wouldn't have thought of, balancing each other out. A Catbird/Towhee Feathursday
The Catbirds have been meowing under our windows of late, but the Towhees have been fairly inconspicuous this summer. There are a variety of catbird and towhee species around the globe, but in our neck of the woods we have the Gray Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis) and the Eastern Towhee (Pipilo erythrophthalmus). The Catbird is in the family Mimidae along with Mockingbirds and Thrashers, while the Towhee is a sparrow in the large Passerellidae family of New World Sparrows.
We present these brilliant chromolithographs of the Gray Catbird and the Eastern Towhee (referred to here as the Towhee Bunting) from Nests and Eggs of Birds of the United States by Thomas G. Gentry and published by J. A. Wagenseller of Philadelphia in 1882, which includes chromolithographs of around 50 paintings of North American birds, eggs, and nests by the American naturalist painter Edwin Sheppard. Eastern Towhees typically nest on or near the ground, which Sheppard depicts here.

Dance me to the end of love (catbirds ver)
catbirds
There's a fucking catbird outside my window yowling and I can't tell you how much it freaked me out because I thought someone was torturing a kitten. I was about to go charging out armed with a chair before I double checked to see where it was coming from, only to see this little fucker on the fence going 'Mraaah!!!' at me.
