A quick round-up from around the web of the latest stories on the forthcoming bird threat.

ITN has released this above report warning of the ferocious power of geese.

The BBC has taken an alternative approach, hoping to dissuade humans from engaging with the warring birds by dramatising the 1646 battle of Sledgby, the oft-forgotten yet costly battle against an armada of hens that had besieged the countryside. Historians have long since quarrelled over whether the high human cost of the battle would have affected the ultimate outcome of the civil war.

The Guardian has attempted to dispel panic with the story of Martin The Cuckoo, an attempt to bring some humanity back to the avian population by manipulating our sympathy for a single lost cuckoo.

The Mail was the first paper to pledge allegiance to the resident birds and has begun publishing propaganda pieces exemplifying the intelligence of pigeons. Our inside sources tell us that they have already begun removing anti-pigeon spikes from their offices in Kensington.

The Telegraph, who have so far refrained from making their stance clear, finally begun hinting at anti-bird messages through a series of cryptic articles.

And finally, NYC-based blog The Awl has released a list of birds in order of favour. With the respective positioning of Canada Geese and Ravens, it is made quite clear where their loyalties lie.

Currently, our best advice is still to try and forget about the flying feathers and instead hunker down with us at Catch, Kingsland Rd this Friday. You'll have so much fun you'll forget that Tweety & Big Bird will be beak-to-beak out there, duking out the pecking order.

Its only the end of the world

Welcome to the Trilogy tumblr - a site powered by the three custodians of the new world order.

That's the new world order that will kick in when the world ends. Yes we know that hasn't happened yet, give it a minute - Rome wasn't built in a day and Armageddon has a few errands it has to run before it can descend on our planet and plunge us head first into the Rapture.

Meanwhile, why not spend your last few moments of life-as-you-know-it enjoying yourself. I mean, with the oblivion of death looming we may as well have some fun and a bit of a dance.

Catch us playing out the human race on the first Friday of every month. Although technically the next one will be the last Friday of any month; at least - we're pretty sure this'll be the one.

Whithered Hand - Religious Songs

I went to see this singer-songwriter man play with his band at Catch in London's trendy East London last night and looking back at the performance I don't think there was a duff song on his setlist. He has a singing voice all of his own and stangely his speaking voice was even higher.

If you want to know more about Withered Hand (sorry I don't have much time at the moment) then why not read this interview with the main Withered man himself, Dan Wilson.

Just hope that he never stays over at your place, I don't reckon it is just futons that recieve his sticky 'treatment'.

He talks about songwriting and other stuff here, which is interesting.

Withered Hand have some very smart lines in their songs, just little observations, cleverly crafted into couplets. You should give him a listen if you like Bright Eyes/Sufjan Stevens or bands with an acoustic/alternative bent.
