Signs in Kyoto and a interesting bicycle :3
Signs in Japan are always very interesting to me :3 I also like this one 出口 (Exit :) 笑笑 When I started learning Japanese I mistook 一口 (hitokuchi one bite :) for 人口 (hitokuchi human bite :) so I though there must be 猫口 (nekokuchi catbite :) for small bites, 馬口 (Umakuchi horse bite :) for big bites and 鼠口 (Nezumikuchi mouse bite :) for very small bites like when you want to try something you're suspicious of :D My Japanese friends quickly told em that it is very cute but wrong (^-^;) I felt sad about it because I think this would work well :D
Japanese signs are so cheerful and cute :3 They are very enjoyable to see :) It’s also remarkable that they often very accurately depict the reactions to things going on like the cat on the “Gift for you” card kind of trying to flow away from under the pouch put on its head :D
The do not park here sign is very classy :D A bit as if they expect everyone to drive around in old Rolls Royce in Kyoto :D I like these old kinds of cars for the amount of manual labour and thus skill that has been involved in their creation :)
Petit japonais was so cute :3 I’m half Belgian so seeing someone use the french language makes me happy :) It was also a nice touch that there was a Peugeot bicycle right next to it :)
I found this one sides bicycle much more interesting tough :3 I mean it looks like a mechanical engineering students dream :D I have a soft spot for single sided forks on bicycles as they have a large potential to a better stiffness compared to classic bicycle forks :3 Also changing tyres is so much easier on them :3 I would like to build a single sided bicycle with a Cardan shaft drive :3 I would use a headstock lefty up front :) I like their Lefty forks a lot :) <=they have needle bearings :3 They are an engineers dream :3
I like the creativity used to solve problems in Japan :) It is a bit like “yes we can do it like everyone but it is unoriginal and doesn't look so nice so lets play with other solutions” :) I like this.
Today I had another tea ceremony lesson which was quite nice :) I rode there on my bicycle which was quite nice but google maps guided me over stairs and though gravel and forest paths... I ride a singlespeed race bike with clipless pedals....(^-^;) The path was beautiful though and i came by the site of an old fortress :) Fortunately I have good control over my bicycle so I can take small drops with my race bike without breaking stuff :)
I wish everyone a great Sunday with sweet dreams of forest bathing (^-^)/
@todayintokyo sorry for being late for purrs day :D
On my way to meet up with some friends in Ueno :)
I enjoy walking from Asakusa to Ueno (and also walking back :) there are a lot of things to discover along the way :) Like the restaurant shown in the first 3 photos :) It looks like it could be straight out of a Ghibli film :3 Or that temple in the following photos :) I like those charms that get pasted all over temples and shrines :3 They lighten up the atmosphere and look nice :)
The graphics on the screen of the train fascinated me as I did not expect to find something this sophisticated on the outside of a train :o I really miss the Japanese transportation system here (;_;)
The sign of a sad cat made me feel like “Aww”. I do like cats a lot (^-^;) <=dogs make me feel a bit scared and uncomfortable (^-^;) This is basically a switching/transformer station so letting a cat inside would be a bit like asking it to die… So it is better to let it be sad about being outside then letting it die inside… Still I wanted to hug a cat after seeing this sign :D
I’m missing a lot of things in and about Japan :) I can’t wait to go back to Japan next year :3
I wish everyone a great sunday with sweet daydreams and time to relax (^-^)/
Spotted this cutie yesterday @ the window of gallery Sign... (Miauw)
