I keep thinking about cave game
I don't dislike modern minecraft in any sense, I love foxes and bees and trial chambers and whatnot. But ever since learning about early dev of minecraft, or cave game, I'm stuck thinking about if the game followed a different route. Something way more focused on the mining aspect- again, not that that's been neglected.
I may draw some concept art of what I mean, but for now does anyone else think about this?
Sometimes all you need is inspiration to make a masterpiece!⛏️

The other WIP news
I've already announced that I am working on a Cave Game™ for my second Inform 7 title. I'm not ready to come out and say what it is, exactly, but here's what I can share:
It is the second game in a trilogy.
It is not a direct sequel to Repeat the Ending, and it will feature (mostly) different characters.
It will not be another "academic" text with footnotes and the like.
Instead of so-called critical discourse, the Cave Game™ will converse with works of fan fiction hosted at AO3.
I will hopefully be ready to publish and share the first of these short stories sometime in late August. My goal is to publish between six and ten works before IFComp 2024.
As previously advertised, I will be looking for people interested in playing the proof-of-concept next month. I'll make a post for volunteers at that time.
