Fission (top) and Rubyz (bottom) are the artists behind today’s sneak peek! A couple of beautiful backgrounds! Patreon supporters saw these two full weeks ago and you could too, for just $5 a month! If every one of you amazing people were able to pledge just a simple $5 a month, we’d be making enough to focus more fully on the game, meaning it would come quicker! So please, considering pledging! EDIT: OUCH. Tumblr ate the quality of these two. Rest assured they are not nearly as blurry/low-quality as tumblr has made them out to be! Gah!

EDIT 2: There, fixed it a little, turns out there was a small hiccup on our end but we got it sorted! The rest is just tumblr being tumblr!

Background and explore artist Kaen did this gorgeous background! Honestly, I watched her paint it and I still think she just took a picture, really. The detail on those leaves, am I right?!

Just a reminder...

Our long silences are NOT AT ALL because nothing is happening. A TON of things are going on behind the scenes and we cannot wait to share them with you all. But we have moved to using our Patreon more and more and we’re now working on a set schedule for releasing new stuff. I do have one small thing to share with you all today, a lovely explore encounter style done by new artist Rubyz! We’re still debating precisely how explore is going to look but we all really love this. You’ve seen part of this picture already but this is really very much how we’re wanting explore to look so enjoy it!

Our plan is for some encounters to have different effects, like the fireflies there with Lunaros.

Demo Update

Hey everyone!

Finn here to give you an update on the status of the Feranix demo. All 110 of our pelts (you read that right - 110!) have been successfully ported to all stages of the Smilodon: Adult Male, Adult Female, Adolescent Male, Adolescent Female, and Cub. We’re exceptionally pleased with that. 

Coding on the demo is complete.

We’re finishing our marking ports (which will come in a fantastic 25 colors PER marking!) and then we’ll be uploading files, creating Alpha accounts, and opening the demo. After the demo is opened, we’ll begin work on porting the pelts and markings to first the Cave Lions, then the Giant Cheetahs. 

At the same time, we’ll be digging deep into the brand new adventure of Explore, where you will uncover Feranix lore, meet NPCs, discover shops, and learn all about the world that your pride inhabits. That’s right: our site features will be built directly into Explore! You’ll need to discover shops before you can use them, complete quests, and build your reputation with various NPCs before they’ll offer you their services.

We’re striving to provide the most immersive experience possible, and we want to give you goals to work towards and cool rewards for meeting them!

On that note, we would like to extend an impassioned plea to our followers regarding our Patreon. The development process for a simulation game of our scale is long, involved and exceptionally expensive. We’re doing out absolute best to fund Feranix and be assured, development is moving forward regardless!

We are absolutely committed to this passion project.

However, we want to speed up. We want to provide you with excellent content faster! To do that, we need to be able to reliably pay our coders and artists for their time and effort.
