Feranix is still looking for artists!
Hello again, everyone! As we find ourselves pushing towards explore and refining our art style, we're still sorely needing some volunteer artists. However, the job might not be as hard as you're thinking!
Recently, we've come up with a system that allows our artists to play to their strengths; everyone collaborates on the encounters. Whether you're good at lining, good at painting in lines, or both: we need you!
If you're worried about anatomy or matching the art style, redlines and advice are freely given by senior artists and actually part of the encounter process. So please, if you think you or someone you know has what it takes, check out our application document here!
Just a reminder...
Our long silences are NOT AT ALL because nothing is happening. A TON of things are going on behind the scenes and we cannot wait to share them with you all. But we have moved to using our Patreon more and more and we’re now working on a set schedule for releasing new stuff. I do have one small thing to share with you all today, a lovely explore encounter style done by new artist Rubyz! We’re still debating precisely how explore is going to look but we all really love this. You’ve seen part of this picture already but this is really very much how we’re wanting explore to look so enjoy it!
Our plan is for some encounters to have different effects, like the fireflies there with Lunaros.
Just a reminder that pledging just $5 to our Patreon gets you access to exclusive new content and all sorts of goodies! We’re hoping to add more rewards as we get more patrons and to do things like audio and video of the process of making the site so definitely go pledge today!

As we edge closer and closer to our demo launch and, later this year, Alpha release, we do plan to start utilizing our Patreon more and more. Patreon is definitely the best way to support Feranix, truly! We recently redid it, going from 8 tiers down to just 4 but the rewards are EXCELLENT, such as a forever upgrade as well as a chance to create an NPC! And a lot more stuff too!!
Patreon is a monthly donation but that is a good thing for us! Money from the Patreon is currently being collected to fund our alpha coding later this year and we will need a LOT of it! We also hope to have enough banked to start paying our dedicated artists for their extremely amazing work.

It is the delight and pleasure of the Feranix Development Team to announce that the Reflection Pool Demo is, as of today, complete in the coding sense. It is not complete with artwork and not as of yet open but the coding is finished.
The Feranix team extends our heartfelt thanks to Kaykao and Jess for their tireless and impressive work on the Reflection Pool demo. We look forward to continuing to work with both Jess and Kay moving forward.
As of this moment, only the dev team can access the demo but if all things go well, it should be open to the public in about two weeks, barring any coding, art, or life disasters. Thank you all so much for your patience.

Time for a sneak peek! As usual, these were originally posted two weeks ago on our Patreon so if you wanna see them early, go pledge today!
We're working out how explore is going to look and it is taking a lot of time and work from our artist. Here are three possibles from Rubyz! The first eagle is done in her own style and is a lovely shade of blue. We are considering having unnaturally colored animals in explore since we are a prehistoric fantasy site! The other eagle as well as the woolly rhino are in the "site style" we are currently attempting.
Explore is going to be a bear to work on, we are quickly figuring that out, but we're making it. It may be a little longer (or a lot longer, really) before we are ready for an explore demo, so that means you can expect alpha to be moved back. Sorry about that, guys, but its just a fact. However, pledging to Patreon so we can help support our artists and keep coding moving even on parts of the site not yet ready artistically will mean things can be done faster. So please, if you can, pledge today! Between here and our Facebook, we have nearly 500 wonderful supporters, a truly amazing community, and it all of you could find it in your hearts to pledge as little as $5 a month, we'd be able to pay for coding and our artists, supporting them so they could better focus on the art for the site!
