Question: have we ever seen Lan Wangji this scared??

Look at that little nugget!!! It’s brief, he immediately gets his stony face back on and even at the height of his emotional spikes I don’t remember him looking like this! 

So this is chapter 152 in the manhua, just after the Slaughter Turtle bit through Lan Wangji’s leg and wei Wuxian had to fish them both out of the lake with the beast following closely behind. What follows is him carrying lwj into the tunnels and later the cave scene. 

I think under his veneer of aloof perfection, Lan Wangji has turtle-terror the same way Wei Ying is deathly afraid of dogs. I think a turtle bit him once in the cold pond when he was five and has never fully recovered. He is also going to die before he lets anyone discover it.
